5.0 out of 5 stars Great bargain in an overpriced world!
You can use this steel any way you'd like, but this was designed as a weapon, plain and simple. (Not to say that ANY knife COULDN'T be a weapon...) And for the price, a very nice one! The integrated "brass"(die-cast zinc) knuckles are an awesome feature, providing you don't punch out any stone-hard surface with it. Real brass will bend, whereas "die cast" (or commonly...

2.0 out of 5 stars Ok knife for price
It's no where compared to the high quality knives like kabar, it has a extremely dull blade and I sharpened it. Good to show but not on field.

Real brass will bend, whereas "die cast" (or commonly called "pot metal") will crack or break... From reading the reviews/descriptions it's easy to tell these are not mass produced by the thousands, as each sounds a little different from the others, including the one I received. My "simulated wood" grip panels are a solid color of brown plastic, not looking much like "wood", and the die-cast zinc handle assembly is a bronze color and looks to be dipped in a clear protective coating. The piece is very well made and feels and looks very solid. I purchased mine for display, but it seems well made enough to stand up to whatever task it's asked to perform. To conclude, this is a good buy and a nice piece of cutlery. Also, the sheath I received with my piece is made of nylon with a plastic insert, rather than the sheath that's pictured in the ad. It's well made and stout enough to carry the knife securely, it's just not the one they show with it. This is of no consequence to me since I will be displaying it without the sheath, but it may be of consideration to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT KNIFE, April 30, 2008
This knife is absolutely amazing! If you are looking for a cool (and functional) knife this is it! may need a little bit of sharpening, but that is with almost all knives you buy online. mine didn't need much sharpening but it was totally amazing! i expected the knife to weigh a lot, but it was actually quite light. i dont know if this is good or bad but it does look like it could hold up for quite a while! a must have for knife collectors, enthusiasts, etc.

3.0 out of 5 stars Blade is pretty loose, knuckles feel like they will break, December 2, 2010

over-all the knife is as it says, pretty nice too, id say mainly for looks though, the brass knuckles are made out of a different material and feel as if they will break easily if you hit anything with them, also the blade is pretty loosely fitted on the handle. other than that good knife.

Its a really good looking knife. but i have concerns of its funtcionality. the blade wobbles when you thrust the handle too fast, I mean you can wiggle the blade just by touching it. i like the way it looks, and its definentley bad ass but I will keep it as a collectors item and not put it to use. the case for the knife is made of woven synthetic material, it is not leather.

1.0 out of 5 stars WRONG ITEM, CHEAPLY MADE, December 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Maxam® Hunting Knife
The packaging was not very good. The box for the knife was broken and torn and the knife was only covered with a very thin piece of plastic- which protected it ZERO. Not only that, but the knife was NOT ANYTHING like pictured. I ordered it in the false idea that it would come with a wood grain look- as to much of my surprise, I opened it and this was NOT the case. The knife I received had red flames and a skull on it and was VERY cheaply made. It was crappy hard plastic and a piece of it was even broken off! When I tried to begin my return process, I couldnt do that either because you have to call for that item- which of course, is inconvenient! I wish I would have NEVER purchased this!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not up to my expectations, December 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Maxam® Hunting Knife
I expected this knife to be sturdy after reading reviews. I was greatly disappointed. First the blade is light weight an poorly constructed. The blade rattles around in the knuckle guard, and the "wooden" inlays on grip are plastic. This knife WILL break if you use it for anything more than a show piece. The sheath is a joke. If you were to take this knife and sheath into anything wilder than your backyard it would come home in pieces. I truly fail to see anything in this knife that warrants the rave reviews that it has received on Amazon. Stay away from this one. You will thank me for it.
