What can I say? They're 20 alkalines for $5.99! Stock up! Alkalines have a shelf life of years.

I prefer rechargables. But they lose 1/3 of their power per month just sitting around, & sometimes I don't get around to the charger.

2 of these batteries ran my I-River mp3 disk player for 9 hours, & my Grundig Mini 300 World Band Reciever for about 30 hours.

My experience with alkalines is that lifetime between name brands & generics varies by such a small amount it's neglegible.

I've been using these batteries for the past few months now, and they work nearly as well as Duracell batteries. I hesitate to say that they are wonderful, but for the price that I purchased them for, it was definitely worth it. Longevity comparison:

They last almost as long as energizers or duracells, but cost way less. for the price it great value. not a mega deal like the memorex 50 AA pack (this is the only reason I am giving a 4 stars) , but still good if you know your usage will be limited.

There are several different kinds of batteries that have all been either long-lasting, or just short on the wallet. Maxell though has been well-known for making some of the best electronic products for all consumers. This 20 pack of AA batteries works just as well. The batteries last a very long time, while not short-changing you on your wallet. It works very well in my remote controls for the DVD player, and the MP3 player. While there are other ones that are just about the name like Duracell and Energizer, Maxell delivers in the quality. I definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a well-stocked supply of batteries.

These are definitely not high capacity. Four of them in my 7yr old's HP Photosmart last about 20 flashes. But they are great for the kids' toys, remotes etc.

I don't know about you, but I 1) hate to pay for shipping and 2) always need batteries. So here's my tip:

Whenever I'm a few dollars short of "Free Super Saver Shipping" on Amazon, I toss in a pack of batteries like these (which are great). The price is right, it saves me the shipping, and it's a wonderful thing to have batteries "on hand" all the time.

I bought two of the Maxell megamax valuepak of AA alkaline batteries. At first I was happy with the price and performance. Now that they are getting near their expiration date, I am finding more and more of them leaking. I'm talking about 25% leaking! One of the 4-packs is leaking while still sealed inside the original packaging. It seems like every time I go to change a battery, there's a leaker, and a mess to be cleaned up. I use a dremel tool with a wire brush attachment to try to clean up. I use batteries in a lot of electronic devices and this is scaring me because there is no warrantee of any kind. In my view, this product is crap. If one device is ruined, what I thought I was saving will be lost many times over.

I thought Duracells would last longer. Now I'm wondering if I have been duped by advertising, and I'm usually undupable. These Maxells last about 15-20% longer in my S3 camera with which I also take quite a few "videos." In an AM/FM radio, I'm getting six weeks using it two hours a day.

I realize that everything's relative, but I've used Kodak, Maxell, Duracell, RayOVac, and generics. I'll stick with these, and the price is pretty good, too.

bought these just to have back ups while I was waiting for my new charger and amazon prime batteries (rechargables) these batteries have a good charge and seem to be working fine for all my electronic needs, wanted to have rechargables though for my new xbox controller, so like I said these were just extras to free up my rechargables. So my review is these are a good deal for the money and come with a good charge on my tester. NOTE: the next size up of these gives you a lot more batteries for just a few more bucks, I found this out after my purchase but oh well needed them quick so I just ordered what I thought was the best deal then did more research.

They may be a tiny bit cheaper and more prone to leak than other batteries (i.e. Duracell) but these are an excellent value for the price!
