This safety light works very well. The act of tapping with a cane automatically causes it to flash, which is a great safety feature for the blind and visually impaired, especially at night or when it's foggy. No need to wonder if it's turned on or not.
Of course, different canes are different thicknesses, so you may need to find something to use as a shim or adapter to fasten it your cane. I ended using a small section of a sprinkler riser which I super-glued to the cane, but you could use anything round and cheap that's the right size.
The battery seems to last a long time too. I just replaced the light this week (with a whole new light--I don't know if it's even possible to change the battery, but at this price, it's easier to just replace the whole unit). The old light was still working after more than 6 months of daily use, but it was getting dimmer, which is why I replaced it.
All it all, we are very happy with this light.
