Great product but they are HUGE!,

I had a pair of these glasses over the summer and they are terrific. The "arms" did eventually break for no apparent reason. I couldn't find another pair in the store so I bought a pair here on Amazon. You can't tell from the picture but these are humongous! They are so big that my husband doesn't want me to wear them around him! There are multiple styles and sizes available so it would be nice to know which you are getting here.

my father got a few pair of these from the eye doctor and I was given one. They're great: 100% UVA and UVB protection is totally soothing, they block glare from many angles, fit over almost any size prescription glasses, are pretty tough for brittle plastic and they're so inexpensive. I've been wearing this brand ever since they were given to me (despite fashion victims calling me "Roy Orbison"...I also wear a wide brimmed hat: "Indiana Jones"...shut up, get a life)
People mistakenly advertise these as being polarized, but they're not. However, they still cut enough glare from shiny surfaces to be acceptable for even the most sun sensitive eyes (like mine). In fact, polarization can take away so much reflection you won't even be able to tell where ice and water are...that could be dangerous. The bad thing is the plastic lenses aren't scratch resistant - if they don't come with a case or you can't find one large enough to fit them, they won't last long before you can't see out of them. Another is the bottom plastic shield doesn't extend far enough to block as much light from underneath as it could. Smoke are the color to get - they keep the world pretty much the same color (minus glare). I tried the Amber and they color everything a bizzare shade of copper.

These Solar Shields are exactly what I was looking for. An easy fit over sunglass that looked more stylish than the squarish "Speed Racer" or "just had my eyes dilated" type.
The tag says they give you 100% UV ray protection. I believe it. They prevent sun from reaching your eye from any angle. This is important for protecting eyes with Age-related Macular Degeneration. They also eliminate glare from the sun and make it much easier to see things in bright sunshine. They are lightweight and comfortable. They are made of polycarbonate plastic so they strong but, like most any pair of sunglasses they will not stand up to being sat on. After trying them out for several months, I went back and bought some more. I now have a pair in each automobile and another for yard work, or walks, etc. I also bought the clear type to use as additional eye protection when working with certain tools. I love them.

Good enough, but...,

These glasses are decent, but despite the UV filtering, are apparently not polarized. Polarization cuts the glare, and I really wanted that, but did not read carefully. There are Solar Shield glasses that have this feature, but these are not them. Caveat emptor!

Solar Shields are the Best,

Solar Shields are the best over the glasses sun glasses available. The side pieces keep the sun from shining into your glasses and then back into your eye. I place 2 pair in each car and a couple of extras for passengers.

I bought a pair of these at a drug store and two days later, a friend accidentally hit them with my bike handlebars. The left 'arm' broke. He bought me another pair and the first day I wore them, they broke at the same spot! I now have one more pair, have not worn them yet but I am hoping they will not break again at that same place.
They are wonderful glasses for me, as I bike ride and walk often and for driving when the sun is going down, they are perfect. If they will only not crack, I'll be very happy. Imc

I just purchased a set of the Solar Shield sunglasses, and I was amazed at how they cut all of the glare when driving.
My car was recently detailed, and the detailer applied some protectant to my dashboard that makes the dash shine, and when the sun is out, I could not see anything for the glare. I put on the Solar Shield sunglasses, and all of the glare was gone. You will love these glasses for driving.

Great sunglesses, they easily fit over my perscription sunglesses which are 5 1/4 inch wide. My only complaint is the plastic material for the frames is quite brittle so if you drop them they can break easily. Luckily I haven't done this yet... Overall great buy for the money.

The product is great for the average male face, but due to it being a unisex item, is too large for my face (50 year old female, 5'4"). Worth trying them if you need sunglasses that you can wear right over your prescription glasses - everyone is a different size and shape.

Great Glasses!,

Originally received a pair of these from my eye doctor following an exam. When I saw on Amazon, I had to purchase two additional pair. Love the fit. They work very well over my regular glasses. Prescription sun glasses are expensive and need to be changed as often as your regular pair. These are inepensive, light-weight and durable. Have recommended to all my friends.
