I really like my maxi cosi car seat. We have the black car seat, and it has withstood the dirt. The only problem with the base is the latch mechanism. I have the new and improved model but it still doesn't always click into place properly, and then as you begin to drive you hear the click (which causes all parents frustration). To resolve this issue, we found that by holding the release button at the same time we place the car seat into the base we hear the click and it is properly secured. As extra reassurance, we rock it slowly back and forth, to make sure it is in place. The car seat is light and has excellent safety reviews. I do think the base is worth the cost, and we bought one for our other car.

The manual is way too thick but installation was pretty easy. One word of caution..make sure the slack from the different belts doesn't accidentally lay on the base. You will try to put the car seat in and pull your hair out trying to figure out why the hell it's not snapping in. Anything obstructing the base will stop the car seat from snapping in. Had it happen a couple times. You'd think I would have learned after the first time but that's what a lack of sleep will do to you.

The car seat base works well with the car seat and it makes it easier to take the car seat from one car to the next. The base is well made and works well. The item arrived promptly. I have no complaints.

The product was exactly as I expected. Received item in a timely manner. Am completely satisfied w/ quality of item.

I love my maxi cosi mico car seat, but this base is just dangerous! The adjustable leveler keeps collapsing on both of my bases in both of my vehicles after very slight bumps or jerks. I would have thought it was a fluke if it hadn't happened to both of my bases. So, what happens in the event of a crash? I plan to contact maxi cosi.
