This review is from: Maximizing me : 30 lessons on the the journey to self-empowerment (Paperback)
Maximizing me is Hart Cunningham's interpretation of Robert Greene's 48 laws of power and even written in the same way. Cunningham cleverly changes words to make these ideas seem his own.

Take a look at Lesson 1; Reinvent your identity and Greene's Law 25 Re-create yourself. Lesson 16, become a fortress and Greene's law 18 which says do not build a fortress. Perhaps Cunningham disagrees with this one. Lesson 24 is exercise emotive influence, and is mirrored with law 43, work on the hearts and minds of others. Hart says in lesson 15 that you should pledge total commitment, and Greene seems to agree with law 29, plan all the way to the end. The only thing is that Greene wrote it in 1998 and Cunningham 2007. Not only is the message similar, but also the style is also congruent.

Cunningham should not be writing self help books. He does not have a background in this department and could cause more damage if people think he actually knows what he is doing. The book jacket explains that he graduated college and started lots of businesses. What they don't say is that most of those companies were regurgitated from others, and they ended up fading away. I did some searching and Cunningham did own a multi-marketing (pyramid) company and invested in yet another person's idea, Jeremy Bloom, called www.Integrate.com. This again is a version of an old idea. But this seems like Hart Cunningham's way to maximize him.

Besides the book being unoriginal and written by someone who should not be giving advice, it was boring and pointless other than feed the ego of the writer. Right now it is being maximized at the bottom of my birdcage.
