Kachinske's book has helped my entire team to maximize their use of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. We pass the book around once or twice a day to answer specific questions. And every time we look, we find the answer we're looking for, in a way that is always clear--clear enough for the tech people and non-tech people among us to learn what they need to learn quickly and thoroughly. This book has helped us to weather the sometimes tough transition to a new tool. But it's done so perfectly. This is one of the best buys we've made helping us to improve our work with a software solution.

This book is basically a slimmed down version of the "Dynamics CRM 4.0 Step by Step" book. With the title "Maximizing Sales. . .", I was expecting some practical tips for using the software to do just that. What I found instead was just a simplified explanation of the software's out of the box features.

Some chose a CRM. Others have a CRM thrust upon them. I am in the second category. So I needed to know what MS Dynamics CRM could do and, to a lesser extent, how to do it. This book provides much of the "what it can do." The "how to do it" is, in most cases, a statement of the bleeding obvious. That might be useful to the less IT adept. Also useful are the extensions suggested in the last chapter of the book.
In summary: a very useful complement to the software.

Maximizing Your Sales with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is required reading for anyone using this product. It's full of step-by-step instructions for the most commonly used functions within CRM, and it's organized in a way that makes it easy to find the task you're looking for. For a beginner user to the product, this manual is easier to sift through than others I've seen, and so I'd say (without reservation) that this book should be your starting point as a Microsoft CRM user.

Ed and Tim have done it again - they've written the best book for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM to increase your sales, improve your productivity and become more efficient and effective. Their writing style it not intelligence-insulting, not is it hokey (aka Dummies), nor is it so stratospheric as to be over their audience' head. They achieve that ideal balance. Maximizing your Sales with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 can almost be used as a reference - I find myself pulling it back off the shelf to answer specific questions - on importing, on reporting, on workflow and campaigns - I'm able to quickly jump to the answer and not have to wade through paragraphs of fluff to find what I'm looking for. If you're only going to buy one book on MS CRM, this should be the one.

Edward Kachinske gives the reader what most authors cannot, that is the perspective of a broad knowledge of CRM software, combined with an acute understanding of the needs of the end user.
Not only has he written extensively in this field, but as a practitioner and implementer of CRM products for customers, he has a real world sense of what works for software user. Buy this book if you want the best information available in the correct context. |
