5.0 out of 5 stars Best Prep Book for Candidates!, June 6, 2008
By
Bill Davis (Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Maximum Perfomance in the Law Enforcement Assessment Center (Paperback)
This is the best prep book for candidates that I have come across in my 26 years as a police assessor. Dr. Morris takes a very honest and direct approach to helping candidates in practical ways without overstating or making ridiculous promises. Definitely a "must-have" book for anyone preparing for a promotional assessment.
William M. Davis, LT. Colonel (RETIRED) Illinois State Police

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't miss this opportunity, May 14, 2008
This review is from: Maximum Perfomance in the Law Enforcement Assessment Center (Paperback)
Finally, a text that delivers what it claims to! As we go through our motions in selecting tomorrow's leaders for our Law Enforcement Agencies, the Assessment Center has become the principal tool in this process. How refreshing to finally have an additional instrument for our candidates to navigate this process, all the while soaking up valuable and insightful lessons from Dr. Morris. As Chief of Police in a medium sized agency, and former executive in a large metropolitan department, I only wish this work was available in past years. It is a rare blend of expert insights and performance tips for a promotional candidate. In addition, it is extremely readable, which is so rare in test preparation manuals.
I cannot emphasize enough, the value of this text for any would be supervisory candidate. If you love our profession and there is an assessment center process anywhere in your future, this text is ESSENTIAL reading.
Chief Charles McNeeley,
Olmsted Township Police Department
Olmsted Township, Ohio 44138
