Self Esteem,
By Pat Bradley (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Maximum Self-Esteem: The Handbook for Reclaiming Your Sense of Self-Worth (Paperback)
I have throughly enjoyed Maximum Self Esteem, and have bought copies for all my children and grandchildren. I think it explains in simple words ideas that we should keep in mind in our everyday lives. It has helped me deal with issues in my life by putting them in perspective,so that they are no longer problems for me. Although people may read this book for different reasons and interpret it differently, I have not met anyone who could not benefit from the ideas it contains.

maximum self-esteem,
By Alice Gilbert (Oregon, U.S.A.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Maximum Self-Esteem: The Handbook for Reclaiming Your Sense of Self-Worth (Paperback)
At last, a book that breaks the grip of victimization! I have been "hurt" in the past and I have "hurt" others. This book aids me in letting go of the BLAME for pain , anger and grief of the past and encourages me to take charge of my "future" self. I don't need to drag it through the refuse-pile of past mistakes. Anger and grief can be very real but they are difficult, heavy baggage to haul around. Even the Bible tells us "you are what you think/feel." I feel I am O.K. and things will improve if I use clear, positive affirmation/prayers! My "Thanks" to the author for this and the "52 ways" book ! More, please!

This book is very easy to read. He writes in a straight forward manner. Self esteem is a difficult topic and he writes in a way that is easy to understand, extremely helpful, and nonjudgemental. I highly recommend it.The layout allows the reader to take a survey and then read the chapters that would be most helpful. I picked it up, began reading and within minutes learned something about myself.

It challenges your beliefs of self worth,
By "dark_gryphon79" (Woodlands, Texas United States) - See all my reviews

I was looking for an answer to why I can't get over things which were done to me in my past and why I keep confusing approval with acceptance. This book will point out a lot of "buts" and WHY we should like ourselves better. It's good for me because I kept beating myself up about not being good enough and because I've always been depressed with how I look, etc. I hope it brings other people the same happiness it has brought to me. I'm not stuck anymore and I can appreciate my life.Kristina

Essence of Self-Esteem : Distilled and Served,
By Dinesh Chakka http://livingthoughts.blogspot.com (Florida, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Maximum Self-Esteem: The Handbook for Reclaiming Your Sense of Self-Worth (Paperback)
This is the one of the best books I have ever read on the topic of self -esteem or self-worth; it captures the essence right down to the bolts and nuts. Unlike other books this book is based on the belief systems or to be precise based on changing our existing flawed belief system. The book is comprehensive, it tells you how to read the book, how the book is organized, provides you with a checklist or a quiz both before you start and after you've read the book, so you can measure your progress, the book also provides simple exercises that you can embark on, has affirmations to help you strengthen your new belief system, it also has a list of several other books for further reading. The book is very simple and elegant, very easy to read, the chapters are presented with great clarity and each chapter is very well balanced in the sense that there is nothing extra, not even a sentence more than what's required to drive the point. So, you should read it very carefully because each sentence matters. It's obvious that the author has spent a life-time researching the topic of self-esteem and what he offers is profound, deep and life-changing. Ultimately, as the author suggests the value of this book is up to you to extract, since it's knowledge applied, you need to read this and apply the new found knowledge in your personal life. It will take time and effort and you can choose the topic or chapter that you want to focus on or improve on depending on your situation one at a time. I would recommend this book to anyone, don't even think about it (this book after you buy it will make you think; long and hard anyway), just buy it. It will make an excellent gift also. My other favorite book on self-esteem is from "Nathaniel Branden" titled "How to Raise Your Self-Esteem". If you could, buy this book also.

By Gary Cross, Ph.D. (Eugene, OR) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Maximum Self-Esteem: The Handbook for Reclaiming Your Sense of Self-Worth (Paperback)
Maximum Self Esteem makes you think about all of the ways our intrapersonal communication can sabotage us. Read it and realize that only you can transform your life - no one else can. It is certainly a true "self-help" book in every sense of the word. Mr. Minchinton has developed his ideas clearly and thoughtfully. I appreciate his insight and candor. Thanks!

This review is from: Maximum Self-Esteem: The Handbook for Reclaiming Your Sense of Self-Worth (Paperback)
MAXIMUM SELF ESTEEM is one of the greatest self help books i've ever come acrossed. No one can read it without benefiting from some part of it. Reading this book has helped me remove a lot of anger from my life. I've just bought Mr. Minchinton's newest book "Wising Up" and am finding it to be of the same great quality as Maximum Self Esteem.

This review is from: Maximum Self-Esteem: The Handbook for Reclaiming Your Sense of Self-Worth (Paperback)
Underrated. The definite How-To to life. Goes beyond self-esteem and into how you can [choose to] be happy NOW. To the point and with valuable examples. Beware, you have to take responsibility for your life and actions and accept that stuff happens and will continue to do so. This book will set you on a path of freedom. Not easy at times, but it's the best thing having a choice. Read also Total Self-Confidence by Dr.Robert Anthony and The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden.
