5.0 out of 5 stars Ultimate Camera Bag
I purchased the Jumbo S-type Versipack to use as a camera bag for my Canon 50D DSLR. It is excellent! I also purchased an orange camera insert from Naneu Pro (Sierra) to fit inside the bag. This combo is perfect. I have room for a flash, my 50mm lens, lens hoods, and the camera with the kit lens mounted. I use the water bottle pocket to hold my kit lens when I'm not...

3.0 out of 5 stars Edc bag
Wow, this is a tough review to write. Why? Because I wanted to like this bag much more than I do.
PROS: this bag is exteremely well made, no extra threads hanging out, even stitching, and very heavy duty material. Bag is also very comfortable, nice shoulder strap with lots of padding.
CONS: this bag is a very poor ccw option, which is one of the main...

This combo is perfect. I have room for a flash, my 50mm lens, lens hoods, and the camera with the kit lens mounted. I use the water bottle pocket to hold my kit lens when I'm not using it. The extra pockets hold my pens, filters, extra batteries, iPod, and my cell phone. I chose the s-type so it would sit on my left side and I could use my right hand to shoot pictures. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars A bag for blackpowder hunters, students, anyone that doesn't need a backpack., March 3, 2008
A quality product for less money. Durable, Configurabe, convenient.
The only thing I would change is the fabric is a little noisy. Meaning a hunter is going to have to be a little more careful in a ground stalk. I could wish the materiel was covered in a fleese of some kind.
By adding the M-1 {also by Maxpedition} to the unit I have all the pockets and organisation I need. Indeed I have to remember to pack the same way each time so I can find things in all those pockets. By adding a cell pocket The VERSIPACK finds a use in my everyday life as well. Give it a Try in yours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for EDC, November 29, 2010
This review is from: Maxpedition Jumbo S-Type Versipack (Eyewear)
Heavy daily use for more then one year now. Still holding up strong after one year of daily abuse as my EveryDay Carry bag. It has sufficient pockets for all tools I need, plenty of space left for phone and random other stuff I might have to take with me on the job.

It is just : I carry the bag backward. To me it didnt make sense letting your keys dangle on you back in the city. Also I have a 16oz nalgene I carry everyday with me in the pocket. Since I use that a lot I prefer to have that on the front side. So officially it is a left side carry which I carry without any problems on the right side. Great Product. Bought more bags from MAxpedition and gave them to friends and familie as gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars This pack is awesome, January 11, 2011

I just wanted to let readers know that this bag is awesome! I carry it every day and it holds my base survival items, some food, and my diabetes supplies, as well as my Stainless steel 32oz Nalgene bottle.
If you watch reviews on this bag you will see some outdated information. For instance the bag has a small handle as well as the shoulder strap. it also has full Velcro in the ccw area unlike the older models.
I recommend this bag for anyone interested in a Good EDC Bag.

4.0 out of 5 stars Big All Carry Bag, September 10, 2009
By
Mountain Medic (Santa Cruz Mountains) - See all my reviews
Love this bag and have used it for over a year as a camping bag, first aid kit, survival bag and cabin bag.

One thing is this bag is BIG. It can carry quite a bit of stuff; water bottle, steel cup, survival kit, first aid kit, emergency rations, flashlight, sunglasses, knife or two, pistol plus two mags, and some odds and ends.
The wide strap makes it carryable and the belt loop keeps it from flopping around.

Minus one star because though it has lots of pocket space they're Big and stuff rattles around a bit. I found the storm collar makes the internal pockets hard to get to and cut mine off but I wouldn't recommend that for everyone as stuff could fall out.

This makes an excellent grab-go-and gun bag or a backwoods minipack or vehicle bugout bag. If you want a small organizer/ manpurse i'd go with one of the smaller max-packs otherwise this is a great buy.

Maxpedition does it again. I have a few of their bags and this one is a great supplemental piece of gear for my medic work. I use the water bottle pouch for my radio and the main compartment fits my BP cuff and stethoscope with room for trauma dressings below. Small side sleeve holds hemostats, shears and light and pens quite well. Back pocket is ret for gloves, CCW and/or reference guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars maxpedition jumbo s-type versipack (green), March 2, 2009
My husband is an insulin-dependant diabetic and has to carry a lot of things to help control his blood sugars. This bag makes it more comfortable on his neck and shoulders by distributing the weight and he is able to carry more supplies he needs when we are travelling, especially when we fly. Now he needs only one bag to carry everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars This bag is in constant use - I love it., April 27, 2009
For my needs, this is almost the perfect pack. I spend a great amount of times outdoors and pack quite a lot of odd gear. This bag is perfect to pack my different identification guides (plants, bird, flowers, etc.) that I continually carry. There is quite a lot of room left for my trail food, note books, emergency kit, water, maps and general girl junk. This is a well built bag, especially for the price. I love the storm collar and it does work as well as any I have seen our used. The pack is quite comfortable and its weight is almost negligible. I carry binoculars, water and most of the time at least two cameras along with a special photography pack. Yes, this is a lot, but if you need it, you need it. This bag is great for the "extra" gear that I need other than the professional. It is easy to slip on and off, which is a big deal for me and my particular way of doing things. I do not that it resists stains quite well, something I could care less about, but some might find this a nice features. Like another reviewer, I do wish the material were softer and quieter, but hey, you cannot have everything, especially at this price.

I hunt a lot and this bag is easy on and off. Doesn't interfear with rifle or handgun. Glad I got it - out with the back pack!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack, May 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great bag. I've taken it on a few trips already and it works great for a long hike in the woods or big city exploring. The colors available make it a bit more discreet than the typical "tactical-look" bags. It's not quite as big inside as you would think by their website; I was hoping to use it as an occasional weekend trip back. However, they do have another bag in their line that's one size larger. The water bottle holder is convenient and a small Totes-type umbrella will also fit in that slot. If you don't anticipate carrying water often with this, I'd recommend getting the LEO model that has an additional pocket on it's side. That model doesn't come in this one's wide range of colors though. If you're right-handed, I'd suggest getting the left side carry model; it's more intuitive to reach across to access the pockets(or cross-draw for CCW). The shoulder pad is a bit bulky & stiff; I'm going to replace mine with a slip-on pad made for automobile shoulder seatbelts.
