5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bottle Holder
I use the 10" x 4" Maxpedition Bottle Holder to fit a Guyot Designs Stainless Steel water bottle using the 32 oz. Backpacker model that is nested in a GSI Outdoor Glacier Bottle Cup / Pot - 18fl oz. This combination fits extremely well. It leaves enough room to keep an emergency blanket and compass nested on top of the bottle.

I bought two of these Maxpedition Bottle Holders. They fit a little snug so if you have a cup that your 32 ounce water bottle fits into, it will be extremely hard to get in and out of the bottle holder. The most disappointing thing about it was that the zippers on both of them are really hard to open and close. Maxpedition always us high quality zippers on their gear, but...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bottle Holder, February 1, 2010
I use the 10" x 4" Maxpedition Bottle Holder to fit a Guyot Designs Stainless Steel water bottle using the 32 oz. Backpacker model that is nested in a GSI Outdoor Glacier Bottle Cup / Pot - 18fl oz. This combination fits extremely well. It leaves enough room to keep an emergency blanket and compass nested on top of the bottle.

The front pocket holds a signal mirror, duct tape, purification tablets and a Swedish Firesteel Army model.

I bought add ons of a 1.5 inch shoulder strap with a shoulder pad and two Maxpedition Cocoon Pouches which are 2 inches in diameter and 8 inches long. These products make the water bottle a great modular system to add and delete items as necessary based upon your needs.

The breakdown of the Maxpedition Bottle Holder is:
- Main compartment: 10" high x 4" diameter, padded, with drainage grommet
- Frontal: 6" x 3" x 1.5" with elastic retention PALS attachment webbing
- Front and sides Attachments
- D-rings for optional shoulder strap Attachment (I highly recommend the shoulder strap)
- Utilizes Long Malice clips (sold separately)

Overall another great Maxpedition product when you need minimalist supplies for a hike or other outing. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little carrier!, February 2, 2009
I use this, with a small psk, rat-3 knife, and a guyot bottle, as my woods walking kit. Heavy duty and easy to use. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a strap!

Maxpedition always us high quality zippers on their gear, but these are awful. The rest of the materials and workmanship is up to Maxpedition's high standards. I would not buy them for everyday use as it would be too frustrating to open and close very often. They would be fine for occasional use such as a bug-out-bag or hurricane/earthquake kit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth it, March 9, 2011

This review is from: Maxpedition Bottle Holder (Eyewear)
Maxpedition bags are among the more expensive bags that you can find, but in my opinion, they are worth the cost. While probably not suited for someone who will only use the item occasionally, Maxpedition bags are incredibly well built and will stand up to some serious punishment. The craftsmanship is excellent and won't fail you after repeated use under harsh conditions. Would recommend to hikers, campers, adventurers and law enforcement.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mazpedition bottle holder, April 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Material and craftmanship is good. The things that I do not like is with the difficulty of zipping open or close the cover due to the shape is not round and smooth. The soft cover is so curly that it took a long time to zip it open or close. Furthermore, it does not come with a shoulder strap.
(I had another nalgene bottle holder that is so round and smooth that I took for granted until now that soft bottle holder zipper was easy to open and close.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Bottle Holder/Emergency Bag, August 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is definitely Maxipedition quality. The design for the top makes the zippers a little of a struggle, but they're heavy duty.

BE ADVISED: The bag does not come with material to attach the PALS webbing to similar PALS webbing on packs. It does not come with a stap.

The current three pictures are an accurate depiction of what you will get. The bag fits a Snow Peak Titanium Trek 700 Cooker in the bottom tightly and a Guyot Design Stainless Steel Backpacker water bottle easily with a little room on the top. The front pouch fits about three Altoids tins sideways stacked vertically. I'd buy this again and would give it 5 stars if it came with straps to attach the PALS webbing to a packs PALS.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO Happy with this purchase, February 2, 2012

The perfect holder for the Guyot Waterbottle.
Guyot Waterbottle is single-walled stainless steel & no insulation. But this holder has is covered nicely.
I filled my bottle with cold water went out into the summer Arizona desert at 9am and the water was still cold at 1pm. Bravo Maxpedition!
The front pouch has enough room for a small emergency kit.
One of my favorite purchases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pouch for the Jetboil Flash system!, January 24, 2012
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this bottle holder after reading that others had success using it with their Jetboil systems. I am very pleased to say it is a well built pouch that fits my Jetboil Flash like a glove.

The case leaves extra room to store an additional Jetboil fuel canister giving you the ability to carry 2 canisters (one inside the Jetboil canister and one outside), as well as utensils an cleaning materials in the front zippered pouch. The fit will be a bit tight at first, don't hesitate to stretch the case by forcing your Jetboil into it, it's built tough and can handle it, eventually fitting like it was custom made for it.

I will upload a customer photo if I can that shows the relative size of this case to a Jetboil Flash and illustrates how much I have packed into my Maxpedition Bottle Holder case.

2.0 out of 5 stars The Little Zippers That Couldn't, January 18, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am in total agreement with what another reviewer said: the Maxpedition Bottle Holder is a TIGHT fit if you have a cup into which the 32oz bottle fits --- but that is not the problem I have nor why I only give this item 2 stars: the zippers are absolutely terrible.

In fact, with or WITHOUT anything in the holder, the single top zipper must be fought with to close; then try to get it freed to grab a drink. It takes two strong hands and YOUNG, patient, fingers as well as a fight to open this floppy zipper, which is lighter-duty than my standard jeans zipper that works easily. And the side pouch zipper is almost as reticent to open or close. For the price, this is intolerable. Be aware, no shoulder strap comes with this bag and there are no MOLLE/PALS attachment snap straps on the back. At this price both should be included.

Nonetheless, other than the frightful zippers, the rest of the bag and its construction is acceptable. I will use it for a bit to see if the zippers loosen up, but I have my doubts; might just wind up sewing a snap fastener on the top to keep it closed. Then again, as tolerant as I am ... this just might turn out to be the first item I return in over four decades.

5.0 out of 5 stars pricey but worth it, July 17, 2011

Bigger than you think, holds a ton, built like a tank, just fabulous. Another reason my $130 Maxpedition Vulture 2 backpack will ended up costing me $500 by the time I get it tricked out, but hey, its fun! Zombies beware!
