Reassuring a child,
This review is from: Max's Daddy Goes to the Hospital (Hardcover)
Believe it or not, romance novel queen Danielle Steele wrote a series of children's books that were published in the late 1980s. "Max's Daddy Goes to the Hospital," illustrated by Jacqueline Rogers, is one of that group.Max is a little boy who lives in New York City. Max's dad, a firefighter, is injured on the job, and the book follows the family through the recovery process. The book combines bright, colorful illustrations with a simple text. The book deals effectively with Max's fears and anxieties during this family crisis. The book could, I believe, be helpful to families who are trying to help a young child get through a comparable situation. |
