I like these nightlights. I have one in every room except the bedroom and they light up the place so I can walk around.

The light sensors don't turn them off unless the light is really bright and near the unit but I understand that those light sensors get more sensitive with time.

They have 2 places where the light goes out. A round circle covered with a "defuser" which spreads the light out evenly in a circle and a smaller oval with a "grate" over it which sends the light out as if it was shining through bars. I put the circle down toward the carpet to cut down on the glare off the ceiling and walls.

The 360° rotation allows you to send the light in any direction.

I have research all three models (about same price range), but haven't seem extensive review on all three products. so I decided to buy all three.
MLN-10 (rotatable), MLN-12 (fixed), MLN-16 (tall)
The goal here are low cost and maximum light output. I have tear apart the covers for more light since I don't care about cosmetic. below are the conclusions after REMOVING THE COVERS from the original design.
MLN-10 - ~5000K, 1 LED, very bright (2nd), good for 360 deg coverage. good for hall way and room.
MLN-12 - ~4500k, 3 LED, very bright (1st), good for directional lighting, used with right angle outlet (Leviton 692-W) on hallway.
MLN-16- ~3500K, 1 LED, not so bright. good for sink or near water with cover on to prevents water splash.
I don't care too much about if photocell was on or off, since it only cost a dollar to operates a year.
If you are techies as me, hope this review will help you.

These night lights are 'automatic' LED lights which consume very little energy. They have a rotating head to direct the light on the floor or ceiling or other areas. They are plug-in type and stay snugly in the outlet (small enough to use the other outlet freely). However, the sensors are not so sensitive. Sometimes, the lights are 'on' even in relatively bright settings. It does seem to learn - i.e. responds to relative changes in the amount of light in the room - but is not consistent.

The lights look nice, bright blue in color and there is enough light for you to walk around in the night time.

Edit: after 2 years, all my night lights are still going strong. They are a little dimmer than they were when new (probably about half as bright, see the comparison photo I posted). If you want a very bright night light I just got Maxxima MLN-50 and it is way brighter than the MLN10 ever was.

This night light is a little brighter than others I've used, which is good for me. It says 0.3W on the case. The light sensor does a good job of determining when to turn it on and off. It says off even in relatively dim light (but still bright enough that the night light wouldn't be of much use if it was on). And it doesn't flicker when the ambient light level is near the threshold to turn the night light on. Make sure the light sensor is pointing up - since you can aim the light in any direction you could easily plug it in with the light sensor facing the floor and it will turn on even if the ambient light is fairly strong. The package says "comfortable sky blue light" but there isn't much of a tint. It's similar to a normal fluorescent tube, which give off a cool white light. I just got mine so I can't comment on the longevity but they're working great so far.

I bought these because of the swivel feature. They are OK with the amount of light emmitted.
I was hoping I could use two of them in a duplex outlet facing in opposite directions. The diameter of the units are too large preventing them to both be mounted simultaneously.
It would have been great if the designers had considered this an advantageous feature.
I am an Industrial Designer and that would have been high on my list of design criteria. 1/8" smaller diameter would have worked without sacrificing engineering factors.

These night lights worked very well initially as a night light for our children. The photosensor has to be pointed up to react properly to ambient light; once we did this it turned on and off very nicely according to the lighting conditions. Both stopped working after about a month, however...disastrous life expectancy.

My parents are coming to stay in a few days time, and I needed some night light's to light up the basement apartment where they will be staying during their visit. I didn't expect too much from these night lights, as I considered the cost of them to be cheap, yet I was pleasantly surprised.

Although I felt the lights appeared duller than I had expected, they do a great job at illuminating the apartment and allow enough light to see by so that one can find their way around. Although the light is a whiteish-blue color, it is thankfully not overly blue. Being able to direct the light's direction is a useful idea, and allowed a night light to be set up in the actual bedroom without being too obstructive to sleeping.

I like these; they might not illuminate a huge area of space, but I managed to place one in the bedroom, one in the hallway, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. My parents can wander around the basement apartment all they like, and won't have to worry about bumping into furniture or fumbling to find things in the dark.
