The autumnal tranquility of Smithtown, Ohio is shattered when Dr. David Bradley arrives home to find that his wife has been raped and murdered by an intruder who has left no clues behind except the words "May Day" painted in lipstick on his victim's body. To say thesee two books are excellent would be an understatement. The author has taken you into his world and placed you in the middle of every thing that is going on. These books are spell-binding and keep you on the edge of your seat the entire read. For anyone growing up in the Ohio River area, these will be of even greater interest to you as you will notice things that will make you remember places back home. I feel that these books are a must have for any library and look forward to the author writing more so that I can add them to my library as well.

I consider this novel a great contemporary work of mystery - a jewel in the treasure which such a genre is.
The plot of a mystery novel is probably the most important part of it - and here Mr Wittenburg provides the reader with a hard but coherent puzzle of events which is always thanked. But the plot is nothing without characters, and characterization is what I appreciate the most in this book. The author has given their characters a realistic psychological depth - even subject of a comparison with Jung's archetypes - and that is what makes the reader enjoy it. We can easily identify ourselves with the fictional people of the book, and I would say that Sam Middleton has much of autobiographic. Doubtless, this novel is something that the fan of mystery literature will enjoy. Rafael Pascual. Granada, Andalusia, Spain.

A hard to put down thriller!!!,

The May Day Murders kept me in suspense all throughout the story. Like Wittenburg's first novel, the characters are believable and the reader is drawn into the story from the very beginning. The small town setting in the Midwest was a great setting for such an edgy thriller/mystery! I highly recommended this mystery novel!!!
