About the Artist

The Spirit Ensemble World Music for people of all ages

David Wertman, Lynne Meryl and Ken LaRoche have been performing, writing and recording original World-Music Jazz for over 20 years. At heart, their hope is to use the music of The Spirit Ensemble to spread a healing message of Love, Peace, Compassion, and Joy throughout the planet.

Their music is of a peaceful nature, full of creative energy, world rhythms, rich expansive harmonies, inspired lyrics, and heavenly orchestrations.

Lynne’s luminous and lovely vocals offer the listener easy familiarity and an exciting presence. She communicates the message of each song with sincerity and a spirit of fun. David’s approach to the bass combines the pure resonant tone of the classicist with swinging rhythm, innovative technique and emotional power.

Ken LaRoche is an internationally known performer, composer, producer, and co-founding member of the music group DOAH. Ken produced five recordings of world music with DOAH. Over the last twenty years, his worldwide performances have included concerts in India, Alaska, and Canada. Ken was recognized by the United Nations for his multinational tour supporting the U.N.'s International Year of Peace in 1986.
