5.0 out of 5 stars excellent beginners book, December 28, 2008
This review is from: Maya 2008 Character Modeling & Animation: Principles and Practices (Paperback)
This is a great introductory book. I started it knowing little about Maya and it was easy to follow and engaging, giving a clear, detailed explanation of how to use the software while still challenging. I recommend it to any beginners and intermediate students.

5.0 out of 5 stars complete set, December 12, 2008
This review is from: Maya 2008 Character Modeling & Animation: Principles and Practices (Paperback)
the book is a complete guide from launching the application to ending your animation.. i find all the answers i am looking for and they are explained briefly by the screenshots of the software, so you never get lost.. maybe this book is more of a beginner/intermediate style book, however any advanced character modeler or animator can find what they are missing at the point, and dont waste hours searching for it on the net, whereas the book already has the brief explanation and tutorial for what you are doing.. in addition to all of this, with the cd given with the book, you do not only read the book and try on your own, you experience with the given examples in the book live..

5.0 out of 5 stars Maya Character modeling and animation, October 25, 2008
This review is from: Maya 2008 Character Modeling & Animation: Principles and Practices (Paperback)
This is a very clear combination of theory and tutorial. Very good start for understanding 3D and animation. Much more clear then the Maya manual... Must have it to make your life easier. Maya 2008 Character Modeling & Animation: Principles/Practices (Maya)
