This review is from: Maya Angelou: Voices in Poetry (Voices in Poetry (Creative Education)) (Hardcover)
11/3/03 7:50 PSTI am a fan of Maya's and I 'm familiar with her words of wisdom. She personifies the black literary scene in poetry. The insight in which Maya as a woman allows you the the reader to feel as the essence of your being is truly wonderful. I am a aspiring poet and one of my favorite pieces is Phenomanal Woman. I love to interpete this poem with advantgarde jazz dance movements, she is a great poet and teacher. This new release is sure to be just as great as her past books of poetry and essay's. The insight into the true black intelligentsia honest, bold and truthful. Thanks Maya for your inspiration! |
