Official trailer for Live From Los ANgeles

In the state of Minnesota lies a small town called Owatonna with roughly twenty-two thousand inhabitants; within that city is a quiet road with a modest house. In that house there’s an unkempt basement with no windows. Within those confines you’ll find Adam Young of Owl City hard at work, creating his electronic and melodically infectious brand of music with a simple and singular ... 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Songs. Great Lyrics. Flawless Execution. July 31, 2010
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
First off.. Ignore the "Explicit" label. i think it just got miss labeled somehow and amazon really needs to fix it...
As this is a perfectly clean album. No explicit lyrics, phrases, innuendo's or anything. Owl City is known to make an appearance on some Christian Radio for that matter...

All the songs are solid. The production quality matches that of Ocean Eyes.

Electronic melodies are used throughout the entire album of course. Never over used. Perfectly timed drum and base, piano work, acoustic guitar make appearances on most of the songs.
But the real jewel of the album is the composition of all the music, the crystal clear high quality vocals to brilliant lyrics.

There is just no real flaw you can ever find on this album. Most (if not all) my complaints are that some of the songs are so good you wish they were longer.

I guess whats needed to know is.. If you like Ocean Eyes... You -WILL- like Maybe I'm Dreaming.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than Owl City May 4, 2010
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
There is something about writing music for the sake of writing music that produces art. In many ways Maybe I'm Dreaming is a better album than the more popular Ocean Eyes as it was written prior to his record contract and international fame. Adam Young takes more risks in finding his sound here which gives this album much more breadth.

I'm not sure what exactly makes this album EXPLICIT as the lyrics while intricate move into sappy throughout much of the album. In fact "dreaming" is the perfect metaphor for this album! What I really love is that Adam seems to be using Reason (software by to craft much of the sonic architecture within.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fresh new sound that is captivating. August 28, 2008
By Blake
Format:MP3 Music
To best describe the sound of Owl City, I think it's almost a mashup of The Postal Service & hellogoodbye musically, and the voice of Sufjan Stevens maybe?

No matter how you categorize it, the music is catchy, light, and will immediately make you want to tap your foot and sing along.

I jut wanted to point out to anyone who is buying this album that it is NOT explicit! I own this album and there is nothing inappropriate about it! I don't know why it is under "explicit" ...cuz it shouldn't be.

I HIGHLY recommend this cd and i recommend anything else by Owl City! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Incredible November 18, 2008
Format:MP3 Music
I decided to check out this album upon the recommendation of a friend a few months ago, and I don't think I have ever been more pleased with a recommendation before. This is my absolute favorite album in the new sub-genre I like to call Indietronica. It is a perfect blend of everything I love about the Indie and Electronic genres.

Upbeat and deeply melodic, this album has everything I desire in an album. I cannot praise it enough. You will just have to check it out yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet - Hypnotic - Enjoyable August 26, 2008
By The Rev
Format:MP3 Music
I find it hard to describe this one man band. Kind of like a positive Postal Service sound. The mixing is flawless, the lyrics somehow soothe my mind and the music seems to touch my heart. I feel happy listening. All this from a guy from Owatonna, Minnesota!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm an Owl lover September 23, 2008
By Chris S
Format:MP3 Music
I first heard Owl City in a local coffee shop and was instantly enamored by the original soothing yet upbeat sound of the songs. Honestly there is no way you can be stressed, much less angry while listening to this album. The guys voice reminds me of Ben's from Death Cab and Postal service, but the beats and rhythms are purely unique. Incredible.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!! March 4, 2009
Format:MP3 Music
This CD is both unique and amazing. The mixing is perfect which is shocking because it was recorded in the guys basement. Im hoping more artists take a look at this style of music and realize how cool it truly is. Every song is GREAT!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a fan of the band but..
I'm not a huge fan of Owl City. I bought this album for 2 songs that I really loved - Rainbow Veins and Saltwater Room. Those 2 songs are magical. The rest of the tracks are ok.
