Editorial Reviews

Some nine years after having called it a day, Athens GA's Masters Of The Hemisphere reconvene to slap a little extra polish on their indiepop silverware. Forming in 1996, Masters Of The Hemisphere released several albums, EPs and singles before disbanding in 2002. Having remained close friends over the years (and sharing the stage in various bands including Still Flyin' and Je Suis France), the quartet's reunion is less a tiresome exhumation than a happy embracing of the inevitable.

I've been a big fan of MOTH's music for a long time now and always wondered what ever happened to them and hoped they would come back around eventually. Well they did and I'm not dissapointed one bit with this album. Same positive good-feel and melodic music that I remember from their Protest A Dark Anniversary album. If you loved "Protest" then you'll love "Breaks". Though every song on this is great my favorites would include the opener Eggshell & Watch It Go Away (this song reminds me of an all-time classic of theirs titled Give Me Something Clearly). Also really love California and was surprised to hear them mention the area where i'm from - the Central Valley. Thanks guys, I hope there is more to come from you very soon!
