Even though my house is not currently for sale, this post with the built in newspaper box is a vast improvement in curb appeal over the old beat up newspaper-supplied separate sleeve. Used my existing mailbox which is bronze finish like the photo of the merchandise and it really looks great. Several neighbors have commented on how nice it looks.

The post looks great. My neighbors have already come by and genuinely stated the like the mailbox and post. I would defintaley buy the post again -- however, I would buy a mailbox that definitely fits with the post.

I learned a lot when researching, buying, and installing the mailbox post. For the Dover, I really like the post. It came quick, in two boxes, and was easy to install. I learned a few things along the way. 1st, be real carful when installing the arm to ensure the mailbox height is what you want for functionality and aesthetics. You also want to ensure the top and bottom screws to the arm are pushing or pulling from each other. Additionally, since the mailbox installation hardware was not included in my Architectural mailbox or post, I had to buy my own. The Architectural mailbox needed a platform to rest on because the underside was not compatible with this post (the mailbox is bigger, but that is not the problem). When you buy your own hardware, make sure the screws are long enough -- but not too long or short. Since the post is plastic, it was hard to get the screws aligned to the post using a filler box for the mailbox. In retrospect, I should have bought a mailbox that was definitely compatible to the post.

I also learned that Whitehall Products makes house numbers for the post (Dover is product #1612 and #1611). The number go right on the newspaper area and look fantastic. They don't sell direct but contact GoMain to get their information.

Lastly, I would have bought a mailbox, mailbox post, and numbers, if I could find someone to put all that together. It was not easy, so I did it myself. In having to spend some serious time to make this mailbox work, I thought I would write this review. I hope it is helpful.

Finally got the post installed and its classy look is just what I needed to replace the old plastic one that is now gone. Was mistaken about one thing, it requires a 4 to 5 foot 4 X 4 to install, I had thought I could just take the old one down and put the new one over the existing post but I had to set a new 4 X 4 to complete the project.

Best looking mailbox on our street. It has a classic look and really sets off the house. Nicely constructed with no maintenance. Easy to install.

Nicest looking mailbox on our street. Pretty easy to assemble. Best price we have seen for this product. I think the base that the actual mailbox sits on is somewhat off and it appears slightly crooked. We have used a level on the post and everything there is level. But overall it looks great.
