5.0 out of 5 stars Medical Theory from a Practical Point of View, April 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mayo Clinic Fitness for Everybody (Paperback)
In the world of health and exercise this books really shines. There's a complete run-down of how to monitor and improve your systemic health from diet to exercise, from psychology to aging.

Practically laid out and extremely easy to understand and follow you're told not only what is important, but *why* things are important. There is particularly deep focus on practical head-to-toes exercises and stretches; including detail on weight lifting, balance and plyometrics.

Unless you have a PhD in physiology, there'll be something in this book that will deepen your holistic understanding of your body.

My big wish for this book is if/when they come out with the next edition they include the super-great food pyramid the Mayo Clinic have on their Web site.

With used copies going for less than five bucks on here, and you've actually interested enough to read this review to the end, this book is a no-brainer buy.

I found this book to be a great overview of fitness. The authors base their information on medical literature, but distill it to a level useful to the general public. Definitely worth getting.
