Excellent,

Used this book for oral boards review. It covered every area of GI needed to pass the section. Images are high quality. Discussions are short and relevant. Book includes many examples of both common and uncommon disease entities. It emphasizes a pattern approach to each system, with differential lists and illustrations of disease entities at the end of each chapter. This book is highly recommended from someone who passed the GI section comfortably. It is better than the case review book for oral boards purposes.

The images are perfect to illustrate the pathology. You can read this book in 3 days. Very useful for Oral Board. Better than requisite and case review. Fun to go through. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

best case book,

Case based book, sorted anatomically (esophagus, stomach, liver...). Each case has great quality pics, findings, DDx and discussion. The ddx are particularly useful, most case review series books miss it. Nice DDx tables at the end of each chapter and a great pictorial review. Best case book I've read so far.

Only text you need for boards,
By powershot "camera guy" (Madison, WI) - See all my reviews

This is a great review book. It seems lengthy at around 700 pages, but is actually a very pleasant and quick read. This is all that you need for boards, meaning if you know this book for GI you will easily be fine. There is nothing negative that really can be said about this book, from the images to the discussions to the high quality medical illustrations. Excellent review text.

This was the only book I read for the GI section of the oral boards. I found this book to be very helpful with over 700 cases, good quality images, a pattern approach to diagnosis and a short text. I would highly recommend it.

Wonderful book , very well written , very well organised based on disease affecting a particular organ with pattern analysis & at the end of each section there is a summary picture thats very good.I have not read a book so well written & organised. I think publishers must be taking a note of that they need to have similar books in different subspecialities. The pictures are big , very high quality & have all the imaging studies combined pertaining to a disease entity. One single book covers everything. Outstanding contrubution to radiology litreture.

I opted not to buy CRS for GI and keep with this one as others before me have said. They certainly were not wrong! The cases are classic with sometimes multiple examples of a common disease. The pictures are high quality on nice paper. The discussions are succinct with top differentials. It is a long book (over 700 pages) but well well worth it! I wished there were other sections that had similar books!

Worth every single dollar,

I have to be honest: I do have a digital version of this book that a friend gave me a year ago. But this book is so great, so well written, that I decided that even though I had already fully read it, I should buy it as a sign of respect for the authors and publishers. I'm a huge fan of the Requisites series, but I was really discontented with the Gastrointestinal volume as it was poorly written and redundant. That was when I came across this book and realized that my collection of basic radiology books organized by systems was complete. This book is not cheap, but what it offers in return is really worth of every single dollar. The number of cases is HUGE, they are all documented well and even better discussed. In the end of each chapter there are great artistic depictions of the diseases priorly discussed, making it easier to recall their appearance in the future. I just can't think of anything negative about this book.
