Absolutely Perfect!,
By
This review is from: Maytag Jetclean Plus Series MDB7759AWS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
This dishwasher has been fantastic for us. It looks great both outside and inside. The stainless steel lining on the inside (as opposed to a plastic lining) allows for better drying and heat retention, also minimizing energy loss. Our dishes definitely come out cleaner and drier than with our previous GE dishwasher, although some items with a recess capable of pooling water, such as the bottom of certain cups placed upside down on the top rack, still require a slight wipe with a towel to completely dry. The controls are easy to use, though at first we were confused because they are hidden under the counter top. This is done on purpose to prevent children from pressing buttons during use. To use the controls, simply make your sections and press start while the door is slightly ajar. Once you close the door the wash cycle will begin in a few second. The wash cycle is amazingly quiet. Sometimes it's hard to determine that the dishwasher is even running. I absolutely love the steam, high-temp, and sanitizing settings. This gets the wash water very hot, and does the job you want to kill and remove unwanted bacteria and germs from your kitchen items. I highly recommend this dishwasher for your kitchen!

Not perfect but great value anyway,
By Steve in Japan "Islander" (Okinawa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Maytag Jetclean Plus Series MDB7759AWS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
(Actually I have the black model -AWB, but no point in mixing the reviews since all of the 7759s are the same machine).
First off, this dishwasher is the answer to my prayers (quiet) and my wife's (cleans really well). The cheap Whirlpool it replaced made a racket and left crud all over the machine and sometimes on the dishes too. I have had it for 6 months now and it works perfectly and is virtually self-cleaning. Love the stainless interior. Some quibbles, but I will add that they mostly come from the 7759 being the low end model in the range: 1) Having all the controls and indicators on the top edge of the door is very elegant and avoids little hands etc., but that puts it under the counter edge when the door is closed so you have no way to see what the status is. What were they thinking??? The instruction manual says that you can open the door and add/remove items BEFORE THE MAIN WASH BEGINS, but with no indicator on the front and the machine being so quiet, I can't tell when this is. (The manual shows an indicator but this apparently exists on a different model). And (sorry "Yaki", you're wrong or have another model), if you stop the cycle after the main wash begins, it will NOT resume and you have to add new detergent and start all over. 2) The top rack is non-adjustable, although it is obviously designed so that on some other model in the series it can be adjusted. Not a real problem since it allows very tall items in the lower rack. 3) The silverware baskets supplied seem to be left over from a model with a square-cornered lower rack, because there is some space wasted when they are used. The angled corners on the rack do add some marginal space: I have no complaint about the capacity of this unit. 4) "Heated dry" is ON as a default. Easy enough to turn off, but this seems like an possible energy-waster since the dishes end up nice and hot anyway from the hot water and the good insulation, much hotter than our old unit. So they dry quickly and cleanly on their own in a few minutes after I crack the door open. I will say that after the complimentary rinse aid was used up I have not felt any need to buy more, but we do have soft water. 5) To get the door open in a flat position you have to bend down and give it a little extra push to overcome the built-in friction. At least the old Whirlpool opened easily because of its weak springs. The door springs on the Maytag look like they come from a Sherman tank but at least they will never break. 6) Installation was easier than typical thanks to the long drain hose supplied and an undercarriage that is fairly free of obstacles. My dealer remembered that a hose bibb adaptor was needed so gave it to me for free. However, the metal shield on the electrical junction did not fit well, and what was that weird screw they use?? All in all, it's probably one of the best DWs around and a fair price too.

Cleans great and breaks often,
This review is from: Maytag Jetclean Plus Series MDB7759AWS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
I bought a dishwasher and the control panel was replaced within 6 months and needs to be replaced again.
I love the way this dishwasher cleans dishes but am very disappointed that it stopped functioning so soon after purchase and again after being repaired. Maytag will not take responsibility for the repair since it is no longer under warranty (the cost to fix it is almost as much as it initially cost). This product is garbage. Buyer beware!!
