So far...so good.

I sew a lot, and unfortunately collect far more fabric than I actually need for my sewing projects.... so I end up ironing large pieces of fabric daily.)

I was previously a diehard Rowenta fan and would consider nothing but that brand. But I noticed a considerable decline in quality and longevity in recent years (even on models marked "Made in Germany") and I got tired of shelling out big bucks for irons that just didn't last as long as they should. After replacing Rowentas three times in the past five years (compared to my first Rowenta which lasted more than ten years), I finally decided to look elsewhere. I chose this Maytag instead and couldn't be happier so far. (In all fairness, it has only been a few weeks, but I should mention that I've done an excessive amount of ironing in those weeks. I sew a lot, and unfortunately collect far more fabric than I actually need for my sewing projects.... so I end up ironing large pieces of fabric daily.)

This iron has a nice feel to it - not too heavy and not too light; not too big and not too small - it's just right (for me, at least). The Rowenta I replaced had a great feel, too, but now oddly feels too heavy and clunky in comparison. The Rowenta had an ongoing problem with spurting and leaking water for almost the entire time I owned it. This Maytag has not leaked or spurted a single drop so far.

And I LOVE the removable water tank! In a matter of mere weeks, I have gotten spoiled rotten by this feature that I never knew existed and never knew I wanted. Now that I have it, I don't know how I managed all these years without it. I can remove the entire water tank and carry it to the sink to fill, then click back in place on the iron. No more tiny water containers to set someplace and possibly drip water or tip over. Of course I still have to walk back and forth to the sink when I iron a lot, but there's no way around that.

This iron is really great. It gets up to heat really quickly and is easy to handle. It's hard to love an iron, but I think I do.

Bought it after seeing the commercial on TV and it has helped me cut down on my ironing much faster.

I am giving this iron 5 stars because it is the first iron that does the job after trying many different irons. I don't know if it is best, just best based on my experience. The steam works, the spray works. It irons well. There are other more detailed reviews more helpful. I just wanted to add this iron does work as advertised. I could never find an iron that would actually iron out the wrinkles of our clothes, this one does. I tried a few Rowentas over the years, Shark, Black and Decker and others. May just be the models I purchased, but they didn't work well. This iron is easy to maneuver and helps the ironing finish quickly.

I'm a little disappointed I was hoping I finally found the iron , but it seems like you can't really buy a good one in the USA. First thing it's great idea the smart fill works but the tank is to small, other thing I had to premoist with spray bottle to make it work it's just doesn't produce enough steam to make the job done right , also the iron isn't heavy enoug, you have to press it to the fabric, it takes forever to iron the shirts may be good for thin fabricks only (it didn't handle my husbans shirts witch are regular shirts ) . There is just only one good thing about it that iron didn't leak . Also it made a rusty spot on one of his white shirt , so I guess I have to return it. If anybody can recommend me something what will really work I will appreciate it ( I tryied 7 rowenta irons in 4 different models all of them had issues )

Only four stars because if you remove the water reservoir to refill it, water drips from the valve. It is too cumbersome for me to refill using the entire iron. Otherwise it is a good product. I've only used it for a couple of weeks, so I cannot rate its reliability over time.

Love this iron. It's light; has great burst of steam, and does not leak!!! Hallelujah! I've had several Rowenta irons and have decided to put them down. No more for me! I would recommend this iron. Great for sewing projects because it heats quickly, so no long wait time for pressing seams.

No leak, strong steam, takes less time to iron, cord not retractile but good lenght, signals when ready to use. Difficult to see water level.
