Product Description

Gemini ® Electric Double Oven Range with EvenAir True Convection

Whether you're cooking snacks or multiple courses for a special gathering, this double oven uses the industry's largest available capacity at 6.7 cu. ft. to cook several items at the same time. Perfect the rest of the meal using the Power Center cooktop with a 3,200-watt Speed Heat and a 12"/9"/6" Triple-Choice elements that handle almost any size pan. Keep the process efficient with EvenAir True convection in the lower oven that roasts up to 30% faster than a thermal oven and Power Preheat which preheats the upper oven 40% faster than a conventional 5.3 cu. ft. conventional oven. And to keep traditions going for years to come, a 10-year limited parts warranty on the elements and ceramic-glass cooktop comes standard.

First, let me say I loved the idea of getting the functionality of a double oven without having to remodel my kitchen. It was offered in Stainless & the price was decent compared to similar models at the time.

I had it for 18 months until it died last week & am now waiting for a repairman to get a quote. The clock & timer still work but the oven & stovetop do not. My husband's online research indicates this is due to a faulty Control Panel, which according to the Internet, will be a couple hundred dollar fix, plus labor. Online research indicates replacement of Control Panels are NOT covered under extended warranties. Please confirm this if you are considering this range. If you still want to give it a try, maybe consider an extended warranty anyway? Who knows what else can go wrong.

Until now I ended up using the smaller top oven the most, as well as the burners. I'd only use the bottom larger oven if necessary, partly because the fan is extremely noisy and constantly cycles on and off, even when NOT using the convection setting.

Everything worked pretty well, although I did notice I'd have to always bake frozen items like chicken nuggets & fries for ~15 min longer than the directions indicated. Two days before Thanksgiving I baked a pumpkin cheesecake. I preheated the oven to 350 & instead of being done in an hour it took 1.5 hours. After removing the cheesecake I increased the temp to 425 for dinner. The display indicated it was warming up & the current temp was 295 degrees!! No wonder the cheesecake took so long...

Thankfully (??) the range died the day AFTER Thanksgiving. That's about the only bright spot in this story.

We've moved around a lot & had many different smooth top ranges with never any problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only thing worse than the stove is the customer service. February 28, 2014
I bought this range in October. I have had repairmen out 4 times in 4 months to solve the problem of the oven not heating up then loosing heat; each time they called the technical support. By the 4th time, they finally figured out the problem (a design/computer flaw) and said they couldn't fix it or return it. Big piece of stainless steel crap. Avoid Maytag. The only thing worse than their product is their customer service.

Buttons are hard to push
Every burner heats up differently
Glass almost impossible to keep looking clean
Nothing is simple
Easy to miss a step and then nothing works
Have to turn oven off to raise the heat again (love holding down the raise heat from 170 to 450 when I just wanted to raise it from 425)
Customer service assumes your an idiot and have never used an oven before
