New Maytag Neptune Front Load Clothes Dryer

In one of the worst experiences of my appliance buying life, my wife and picked out the new Neptune washer and dryer just 4 years ago. After the first year, one of them (then we didn't know) was putting a thin but very visible brown line in clothes like T-shirts or sheets. Anything light duty seemed to be a potential victim. After a year or so of wrecking a replacing various garments, we gave up on calling for support from Maytag / Whirlpool. The told us we needed new felt on the drum (which by the way only comes on the drum $500 part). That was wrong. What we finally discovered is that the drum wasn't actually truly round where they seam it. As a result, the clothes would get drug into the non concentric portion of the drum when it was at the lowest point in the revolution. As the clothes were being pulled up, they would be pinched between the drum and the face, which is what caused the thousands of marks. NO dryer company REPLACES THE WHOLE DRUM FOR WORN OUT FELT. Whirlpool elected NOT to make felt available for these drums because they KNEW they were defective. Unbelievable unethical customer service is all I can say. I would never ever buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product not only because they made the inferior design but because they decided to lie about it. One more thing; I have never written a review ever but I have read many. We are buying a new washer and dryer (so they'll match) and would have appreciated reading this account had it been available to me before we bought these. Hopefully they have fixed it, but, I guess we are going to try LG.

great buy! works so much better than our old antique dryer. many options to cut down on energy usage...seller was great!!

What a pleasure it is using this dryer. It can handle large loads! I can't say enough about the piece of mind it gives me that my clothes don't finish the cycle bunched in wrinkled balls. I don't feel like I have to get the them out immediately when the dryer stops. If I don't take them out to fold for a few hours, they still look great and wrinkle-free. I highly recommend this model.

Completely love this item. Does everything that was specified. Loved it so much, went searching for a matching clothes washing machine. Had to settle for white, but that's okay.

2 years ago we bought what we thought was top of the line "Maytag" quality washer and dryer. Nothing but problems and then when we called customer service we were "out of warranty". had to argue and argue to get the parts covered and then had to install them myself. The washer has held up better than the dryer but in my opinion neither one is worth buying no matter how good a deal it is. the dryer has been terrible. the drum split and ate clothes and that caused the roller to later break and that caused the rear inside face to also go bad. Would not recommend buying EVER!

Recently bought a range, microwave, washer and dryer from home depot. After about one and one half years ALL four quit working. Called customer service, that was a joke, one-year warranty of course, will never buy from maytag again. Feel free to contact more dissatisfied customers if you like, there are many out there, and all will attest to my comments. $2000 is a lot to spend on appliances that will only function for a little over a year. May just be a fluke, zero out of four ain't bad right? Oh, wait yeah it's absoltely terrible.

I am very happy with the follow up I got from the seller. There was a problem and he handled it very professional and fast. Very easy to work with.
