The Maytag Belt kit arrived quickly and was easy to install. It comes with instructions and was about 1/3 the price of buying it directly from Maytag. Thanks Amazon!

First, these are not OEM belts...Maytag OEM belts were made in the USA. Maytag is now a Whirlpool brand made in China. These belts appear to be well made, but feel somewhat slippery to the touch. For me, they did not remedy the squeak that is typical of stretched OEM belts. I carefully cleaned the pulleys w/alcohol prior to the install, to get the best result.

To prove the point, I retrieved the old belts and re-installed with belt dressing to improve tactile grip. The machine no longer squeaks and spin-out efficiency has returned to normal. This will be a short term fix.

These belts may in some cases work as advertised, but the Maytag set-up presents a challenge for the drive belts b/c it pulls against a floating drive pulley from 2 directions. The "real" Maytag belts are way overpriced (and may not be OEM either), but if the cheap gamble doesn't pay off you may meed to resort to the high dollar version.

My Maytag Performa washer started making a squeeking noise during the spin cycle. I initially did nothing and then it began to make the squeeking noise during the agitation cycle as well. I figured it was most likely the belts, so I looked into ordering a replacement set. This set included both belts on the washer for less than the price of a single Maytag brand belt. Installation was easy and requires no tools. It is helpful to have two people there, one to help hold the washer tilted up at an angle while the other changes the belts. The entire process took less than 5 minutes including moving both the washer and dryer out away from the walls to get a good angle for tilting the washer.

The squeeking noise is now gone and the washer even seems to run a little smoother. The belts I replaced were slightly stretched out compared to the replacements, which I believe is the reason it now runs smoother.

Overall an excellent purchase.

I priced the same belts at Sears at $70. Like I'd pay that much for a belt... I waited a couple of days for them to arrive and then put these in the washer in all of 10 minutes. Thanks Amazon & U-tube, $150 in my pocket over repair cost.

For this old washing machine of ours a set of replacement belts is a must. The Maytag dealer wanted over $50 for a set.WOW! I am glad this alternative set of belts was available at a fraction of the dealer price.

product was received and found un-needed. I failed to return through Amazon but sent directly to distributor. Distributor has failed to return the money for the product so far. Unresponsive to requests.

I was concerned these belts might not be OEM quality when I ordered... but they are genuine Maytag parts. The price was LOW, the quality HIGH.
