Only for 1.6 liter Miatas,
By Brian B. (Seattle) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mazda Miata Enthusiasts Manual (Paperback)
This book is for 1.6 liter Miatas, built from 1990-1993. It is much less useful for later Miatas. Unfortunately, this information is not provided to potential buyers of the book. The followup book, for the later 1.8 liter Miatas, was apparently discontinued soon after publication, for reasons unknown to me.

Helpful advice,
By Dave (Dorchester, England) - See all my reviews

This manual is for all 1.6 liter Miatas with pop-up headlights. It does not cover the post '98 model with fixed headlights, nor the 1.8 liter model (with pop-up headlights) for which there's a separate manual. I hope this advice is helpful - Rod Grainger, author & publisher.

Really delivers,
By Lee Davis (Statesboro, GA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mazda Miata Enthusiasts Manual (Paperback)
There should be a copy of this in the trunk of every 1.6 liter Miata. Much more user friendly than the "official Mazda" book, the Enthusiast's Shop Manual is well illustrated and clear. The idea of an enthusiast's manual is a good one -- the book's written for the skilled and involved owner, not for the professional mechanic. My copy is covered with greasy fingerprints, which is the hallmark of a good manual.

Clear, very thorough.,

This book is definitely a must for anyone who owns a Miata. It provides clear instructions and pictures for each repair. One drawback...it does not have an index.

Above average, lacks a full page wiring diagram.,

This review is from: Mazda Miata Enthusiasts Manual (Paperback)
The authors have given us a book that Maita lovers will be able to utilize on a daily basis. The only thing I found missing was a traditional full page wiring diagram, bumber to bumber.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mazda Miata Enthusiasts Manual (Paperback)
I bought this manual at the recommendation of others. While the author appears to be quite knowledgeable as a mechanic, the organization of the manual is extremely poor. I needed to do a head removal and replacement. There was no single section detailing step by step instructions for this process. Instead, it was part of an entire engine rebuild. At times, the exact same information was located in two different sections. Other steps had to be searched for in other sections, sometimes several pages away either forward or backward. This lack of continuity makes the job take much longer than it really should. Additionally, this manual contains no index, making it more difficult to find specific items or tasks. Another section needs to be added specifically for torques, settings, tolerances, etc. Overall, the manual will help you get the job done however, for the money, I feel that a Chilton's or Hayne's would be a much better investment.
As for the seller, I am completely satisfied. The book was well packaged, arrived before expected, was in at least as good a condition as described, and the price was fair. I'm very, very satisfied with the seller and would not hesitate to buy from them again. Mazda Miata Enthusiasts Manual

Worse than worthless,
By "disquek" (Newton, MA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mazda Miata Enthusiasts Manual (Paperback)
This manual is nothing more than the account of an english mechanic taking apart SOME of a Miata. Many things are missing or half done. Lots of them critical. How much is missing? Here's a good example .... beacuse of a missing section, I had to re-pull my engine and transmission. This book will make good fire starting material. 'Nuff said.
