This book is so fantastic and my daughter and I read it in one day. We started the series not long ago and we have enjoyed every book so far. I am sad that they are ending.

Another wondrous installment into the series. The action here is probably some of the best, with heart-pounding chase scenes and plenty of character-based intrigue.

Not the best,
This review is from: The Maze of the Beast (Deltora Quest, No. 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
THE MAZE OF THE BEAST was not the best DELTORA QUEST. It was slightly boring compared to the others. It seemed like the best bit was the boat bit.

In this book Leif, Barda, and Jasmine discover new enimies, get a new friend and conquer the Maze of the Beast. There they find the amethyst. It is great for people who like monsters, magic, and adventure. If you read this book, you will want to read the rest of the series. It should have more like 20 stars!

The thrilling sixth book in the Deltora Quest series.,
This review is from: The Maze of the Beast (Deltora Quest, No. 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
Leif, Barda, and Jasmine have found five of the seven gems of the Belt of Deltora. But the Shadow Lord is aware of their quest and has sent his servants to watch out for them. Their journey is more dangerous than ever. To find the sixth gem, the amethyst, is located on the western coast, in the Maze of the Beast. During their journey, they visit the stronghold of the resistance and face shape-shifters and pirates. They also make new discoveries which may help them in their quest to free Deltora from the Shadow Lord's evil. All fans of the Deltora Quest series will want to read this, the latest book. I can't wait to read the next book, which will describe the search for the seventh and final gem.

Unlike many similar series the Deltora Quest has managed to maintain its momentum, at least through this book six. The actual finding of the gem takes something of a back seat to the action, but that's because we are starting to build to the conclusion. Still a very worthwhile effort.

A thrilling 6th book in the series!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Maze of the Beast (Deltora Quest, No. 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
Inside this book you will find the three main characters fighting magical creatures called Ols, the separation of the friends, and the terrifying battle with the menacing monster the Glus.
My favorite part was how Lief, the main character, had to use touch as his only way of knowing what to do. I think that the most clear message that the author was trying to give was that you can't always rely on your eyes. I thought it was an amazing book to continue the Quest of Deltora's gems. It was always interesting and I recommend the book to people that like adventure, but you should read the first five then read this one. -- David

The Maze of the Books,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Maze of the Beast (Deltora Quest, No. 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
Last year I was bored our of my mind with nothing to read. All books that looked interesting I'd already read. Then one day at the bookstore I saw a weird looking book that I'd seen many times before but never read. this book was "The Forests of Silence" and I was never quite bored again. As I write this Emily Rodda has written a total of 14 books(though not all in Deltora Quest) and out of all 14 "The Maze of the Beast" quenches my thirst for exictement every time I read it. It has giant indestructable slugs, pirates and polypans. Don't be lead astray by lookalikes this is the only good one. Read it and never be the same again.
