5.0 out of 5 stars Flora you can't ignora!, February 27, 2007
Since the 1800's peolpe have been collecting the beautiful plant fossils along Mazon Creek. There have been several good books to identify those plants but each has had it's limitations ( poor illustrations, incorrect identifications, incomplete coverage etc.). The books become rare themselves and this made it hard to properly identify the fossils. Now Jack Wittry has produced a comprehensive guide to these interesting plants.

THE MAZON CREEK FOSSIL FLORA is a collection of hundreds of full color carefully chosen photos of the plants with a masterfull text that will at once allow you to identify the common and rare Mazon plants. This book is like having a paleobotanist at your service to get the labels right. It is inexpensive and will appeal to collectors, students, nature enthusiasts, and teachers. The subject matter will also help people to identify similar age plant fossils found in other areas.

Like the earlier books, this one is destined to become a classic and may well become a scarce collectible in the future. Get your copy now and enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Teaching Tool, June 21, 2007

This is a phenomenal book about the treasures found at Mazon Creek. I am the director of a natural history museum with a collection from Mazon Creek. We use this book as a teaching tool in our education classes and carry it in our museum store.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mazon collectors should take notice of this book!, February 6, 2007
Mr. Wittry's book is a huge improvement over other ESCONI publications. Not only is it visually appealing as a coffee table book; but it is a substantial compilation of information that can be used as a reference.
For a Mazon plant collector; the book is a must have tool. Dr. Richardson would be proud of the continuing efforts put to word. I'm sure the memoriam dedication to Mr.Hay; further hallows this finely appointed book
on this area of high interest. So glad I bought the book! Have you considered publishing another subsequent book like The Mazon Creek Fossil Fauna just as George Langford did? Cheers, Mr. Wittry
