5.0 out of 5 stars The View from McClellan,s Bluff, January 10, 2011

This review is from: McClellan's Bluff (Kindle Edition)
You can see more from McClellan''s Bluff than Leslie Cahill ever imagined. Mary E. Trimble''s novel for young adults continues the story of the Cahill family: John, his son Wade and daughter Leslie. Both John, a widower, and Wade, eager for a family of his own, manage to take enough time away from their Circle C ranch to find romance. Leslie, on the other hand, loses interest in her high school friend, Jordan, when Sloan Stroh breezes into town and gives her a look she can't get out of her mind.

Imagine Leslie, all ready to help at the round up and her dad says she can't go, after all. Imagine a younger step-sister-to-be with an attitude who can't wait to move in. Imagine Wade, a bossy big brother who likes to butt in, especially where Sloan is concerned. And imagine Leslie's memories of her mother, killed in an auto accident which has never been resolved.

McClellan''s Bluff, which picks up where Rosemount leaves off, is a fine novel in its own right: colorful setting; challenging characters; fast moving plot. Mary E. Trimble has written another story too good to pass up.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Love, February 20, 2009
This review is from: McClellan's Bluff (Paperback)
Too good to be true...

Young Leslie Cahill is in over her head - again! In this sequel to Rosemount Leslie finds herself falling head over heels in love for the first time with Sloan Slade. A man 11 years her senior.

Leslie is still in high school. Sloan is part-time cowboy, part-time drifter. Both her dad and brother have warned her away from his advances. But, what's a girl to do when Sloan levels those cool blue eyes her direction and looks her over like she is the most special woman in the whole world?

Mary E. Trimble portrays the confusion of being a young woman awakening to love with true to life clarity.

I loved this book ... it's a wonderful story about growing up!
