Extracts have become very expensive at the grocery stores.

Doesn't taste like rum, not even a little bit: Both my wife and I felt it smelled exactly like nail polish remover, and it tasted even worse...

I use this in chocolate souffle or other chocolate dishes for for a mocha flavor instead of pure vanila extract.

Flavor Name: Raspberry Extract With Other Natural FlavorsSize Name: 1 Ounce (Pack of 6)
from wikipedia: In the United States, Castoreum has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a food additive, often referenced simply as a "natural flavoring" in the product's list of ingredients. It is commonly used in both food and beverages, especially as vanilla and raspberry flavoring.

Castoreum (pronunciation: /kć'st'ri'm/) is the exudate from the castor sacs of the mature North American Beaver Castor canadensis and the European Beaver Castor fiber. Within the zoological realm, castoreum is the yellowish secretion of the castor sac in combination with the beaver's urine, used during scent marking of territory. Both male and female beavers possess a pair of castor sacs and a pair of anal glands located in two cavities under the skin between the pelvis and the base of the tail. The castor sacs are not true glands (endocrine or exocrine) on a cellular level, hence references to these structures as preputial glands or castor glands are misnomers.

i USED to love raspberry flavored everything, and used the heck out of this extract. i always assumed the natural flavorings had something to do with raspberries, not beaver butt.

I have used the product, and it did not enhance the flavor of my banana bread. I could not find this product in my immediate neighborhood. That is why I ordered it online. It was not worth it.

Flavor Name: HazelnutSize Name: 1 ounce
McCormick usually offers reliable flavorings but this one is just ok. Smells delightful with that rich, familiar hazelnut fragrance. For baking, I find I need about double the amount of extract that I would use of natural extracts. Even then, this provides a very light flavor of hazelnut that can be difficult to discern in the finished product. Taste terrible in uncooked glazes. Natural hazelnut oil provides the best flavoring, but is very expensive. This is only an "adequate at best" substitute.

I use this in my mint tea. It's a great treat without caffeine. Works good in Teramisu. Looking forward to use this in other recipes.

Extracts have become very expensive at the grocery stores. This was so much cheaper than I could have purchased at the grocery & it's the same quality & flavor.
