Google "curry powder health benefits" and you'll find plenty of results; it's best known for its benefits to digestion and for anti-inflammatory qualities, but also said to boost memory and protect against Alzheimer disease and cancer.
Ingredients: Coriander, Fenugreek, Turmeric, Cumin, Black Pepper, Bay Leaves, Celery seed, Nutmeg, Cloves, Onion, Red Pepper, Ginger.
The expiration, I'm pleased to note since there is so darn much of this(!), is April 2014.
Truthfully, though ... DO CHECK THE BULK SPICE SECTION (FRESH BULK SPICES, BY THE POUND) AT YOUR LOCAL HOLISTIC GROCER !!! ... I have since found that my local "Whole Foods" (type) grocer is selling FOUR VARIETIES of REGIONAL CURRY POWDERS for EVEN MUCH LESS and these are much fresher and more aromatic and interesting.
In greater Asia, (from Persia to India to Thailand), there are almost as many blends of curry spices as there are families. Every family has their own, UNIQUE blend of spices in their traditional curry-spice mix. ... So ... Do yourself a flavor and keep your eyes open and ASK THE AISLE CLERK, in the BULK SECTION, AT YOUR VARIOUS LOCAL MARKETS ... You may be surprised at the large selection and great pricing.
I **AM** using this McCormick Curry Powder and just finished cooking a HUGE batch of my own Lentil and Quinoa "KRAZY KURRY" using THIS product. It is JUST FINE and I was very pleased with the result.
BOTTOM LINE ? ... GET SOME OF THIS BUT KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND ASK AT YOUR LOCAL MARKET !
PREPPERS ?? NOTE ! : THIS IS A GOOD MEDIUM-TERM STORAGE OPTION (GOOD SHELF-LIFE).
It's exactly what you think it is: a large container of McCormick Curry. Sealed and fresh. And I finally have enough to make my double/triple batches of Chicken Curry without running out! It's a big hit in our house.

Great addition to chicken salad. Used rotisserie chicken cut up, a little mayo, some raisins, some chopped walnuts, and a dash of curry powder. Delicious!Published 1 month ago by Bird Watcher

Made some great curries with this.
To me a curry powder should be heavy on the things like cumin corriander turmeric and pepper etc. This one does not disappoint. Read morePublished 1 month ago by TheGuy
So much cheaper than buying the tiny one from the grocery store every time I want curry. Very mild (ie. not hot spicy) flavor but still very rich flavor. Yum!Published 1 month ago by A.
This seems spicier than the McCormick mix I'm used to. Maybe it's just me. I'm not sure. I had to adjust my recipes accordingly to get the spice was under control. Read morePublished 2 months ago by kalidassa
Excellent flavor and aroma. The price for the amount is excellent as well. Given the large amount I recommend storing it in the freezer between uses to preserve freshness and avoid... Read morePublished 2 months ago by Jake
