Mix this stuff with olive oil and soy sauce (1/4 cup olive oil, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 2 teaspoons of this seasoning and brush it on steaks or meats about 10 minutes before grilling). It is delicious and will rival a steak in a restaurant. Your guest will want your secret !

Very good blend of seasonings for pork and chicken. I think it will be good on fish as well but haven't tried it yet.
For doing ribs I would recommend accenting with a little brown sugar.

The maple and smoke flavor comes across very nice without being too much or tasting like imitation type seasonings.

McCormick does it again with a great product!

Coming from a household of carnivores, I make steak all the time. I've experimented in the past with home-made rubs and seasoning, but I always *always* come back to Montreal Steak seasoning. After you try it, you simply just can't go back to anything else - this is the ultimate perfect steak rub, and there's literally nothing that you would want to add to make it better. I usually take a steak out of the fridge once I get back from work so that it can warm up to room temperature in an hour, then with my hands, rub it all over generously with montreal steak seasoning (less generously if you have a thinner steak, because the salt level can get out of hand pretty quickly), making sure to get into every nook and crevice. Then heat up the cast iron pan, throw in a little pat of butter, and cook the steak briefly on each side to taste. Make a side of garlic bread and simple green salad; dinner doesn't get better than this.

Also, a bottle of this lasts forever and doesn't go bad. Buy it in bulk! If you love steak, you won't regret it.

I came across this product at BJs, and fell in love. Food have never tasted better. It smells so sweet and smoky at the same time, I am drooling on the keyboard while writing these lines. This srub is so good I stocked enough for a few years, just in case it will be hard to find later.

We love cooking salmon on the grill on cedar planks (brown sugar and black pepper on top), but the planks are expensive and you have to soak them for an hour before you can use them... so I tried this grill-mate on a whim. The results were just as good as the planks and with no prep time.
Today I was whipping up a batch of pinto beans in my Fagor 2-by-1 Splendid 5-Piece Pressure Cooker Set I was thinking how nice it would be if I had a ham hock in the house, but I never do, so in goes the smokehouse seasoning with an onion and voila, the yummiest beans ever.
If you like smokey flavor this is a must in your spice-rack

I wanted something different with rubs. I'm not very fond of the highly spiced tex-mex rubs, or the barbeque rubs that are so popular.

This was much less expensive than the small jars that my grocery store carried, so I decided to experiment! WOW!!
wash the meat with cold water, dry with paper towels, salt and pepper it, thickly coat it with the rub, and tightly wrap in plastic for a couple hours.

When you are ready to roast it, I throw a tablespoon of flour inside the Reynolds oven bag, very carefully baste the meat with 2 or 3 tablespoons of mample syrup, throw it in the bag in a 325* oven for whatever time the Oven Bag's chart calls for, and it has a magnificent brown surface with little crunchy crispies on the surface, and it is delicious.

I baked a 3 1/2 # slab of baby back ribs for my son and myself - assuming we'd have dinner, and then I'd have half the ribs to munch on for a few days lunches -- only to find after chatting over lunch, there were only 2 ribs left, and my son is smiling from ear to ear about the great rack of ribs!! Needless to say, I'm delighted with my new recipes added to my cookbook.
