This 16" bar length electric chain saw, has a powerful 15 amp, 4.0 hp electric motor. The 16" bar length cuts logs up to 32" in diameter. The automatic oiler provides consistent lubrication to bar and chain while the saw is running. The sprocket tip bar increases the RPM of the chain and decreases bar wear. This saw is also equipped with the standard chain brake/hand guard that immediately stops the chain when the user's hand contacts the chain brake lever in the event of kickback; for added safety and protection. Lightweight design for easy use and handling and fully assembled in carton. Ideal for trimming small to large size branches and cutting small to medium size trees.

comparing features of mcculloch 1640 v remington 107624

1. mc auto oiler better than rem manual oiler

2. mc has 4.0 hp v 3.0 hp for rem

3. mc has auto brake guard instead of hand guard as on rem.>big feature!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. mc 2 yr warranty v 1 year for rem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used this chain saw to cut up tree limbs that had fallen during the recent hurricanes. To my surprise it cut similiar to gas ones that I had used in the past without the pain of starting and restarting all the time. It has a lot of power and the feel of it is of a good dependable product. I would recommend this product over the Remingtons sold in most local stores. I have never heard a good report on them.

I hope they get this back in stock. Before I retired as Deputy Chief of a medium sized Fire Dept. I put one of these on a truck. This chainsaw did a great job without putting CO ( like gas models ) into the fire building. I'd like to have one for home use.
