It works. After suffering with ankle and foot pains for two months stemming from a running injury, I bought this in the hopes I would at least be able to avoid going to a doctor so he/she could tell me I needed a foot brace and medicine. After a month of use, my pain is all but gone. Can't recommend enough.
I look forward to putting it on every morning at this point. It's that comfortable. Easy to clean and good looking enough to wear with shorts, it has fit seamlessly into my life. The only negative thing of note is obvious: though it will fit in your shoes, chances are that it will stretch out the heel a bit. With extended use, you will probably want a new, snug pair of sneakers when you're done.

I got a nasty sprain and my doctors office only had splints that didn't seem very stable. Picked up one of these. It is really great for stabilizing your ankle. I like that it has both the neoprene 'sock' and the plastic brace as a separate piece. Part of the reason I purchased this brace is because they said you would be able to wear it with shoes. Not if you wear women's shoes. The only thing that fit with them is women's slippers (which it stretched out). I ended up purchasing a pair of men's shoes (because their width is naturally wider) to be able to actually wear this brace with a regular shoe. I do like that it is black over the 'medical' white.

I bought this brace based on the really great reviews and was SO disappointed! I dislocated and fractured my ankle and coming out of a walking boot I wanted extra support since the ankle felt unstable and was still quite sore. This looked like great support and a perfect transitional brace to use while I was transitioning into walking normally again. So wrong. The plastic was way to hard and uncomfortable and although good in terms of support was incredibly uncomfortable. The worst part however was the bottom piece - the rigid sling area. It was akward, didn't pivot easily, seemed cheaply attached to the rest of the brace and was tremendously difficult to wear comfortably. I returned it the very same day and went with a Mueller brace. The Mueller seems to provide even BETTER rigid support while still being completely comfortable and easy to wear, which this definitely wasn't. Just a warning, this may be great for some, but it's not as universally amazing as it may seem!

I rolled my ankle the very first game of the season in a bad way. Doctor said I would be out 4-6 weeks. I was able to come back after just 2 weeks with the assistance of this brace. I realize it is a little pricy as far as ankle braces go, but it works! It fits comfortably in my shoes (size 12) and is hardly noticeable when I wear it. One tip, wash the liner after ever couple of uses or it will get stinky.

The light weight and the strength of the ankle brace is surprisingly well balanced supporting the ankles of my son when he plays football. He is 250 lbs and when pushing on other players (opponents) that weigh the same and most times heavier, he feels the support that McDavid ankle braces give him. We selected the right model for him. The unit was more bulky than I expected. The support was also less than I expected. It's ok.

Ultra comfortable, secure, I could wear this all day. I had bought an Active Ankle brace before and it hurt to wear while running. This McDavid is the ultimate in comfort, ease and security. Glad I bought it.

The product is great. The ordering information is confusing. I needed a large size. In the ad, the higher the foot size listed, the smaller the title. Example: A size 12 was presented as a "samll-medium." So which one does a person order by - the "small medium" identifier, or the numeral size listed, which gets smaller as the foot size grows larger?

So I ordered a size 12, but was sent a small/mediium. I kept it because my broken ankle needed upport immediately, and I didn't want to wait for the time it takes to re-order something.

To summaraize:
1. I ordered (or attempted to order) one for a size 12 foot.
2. I kept the wrong size because I was immobile and couldn't wait for a lengthy return of stock and reissue of correct size.
