I hope the following chart helps determine your size. I could not find it on the Amazon website so I guessed what size I needed and was wrong. They did take the return and I re-ordered the right size off the chart below. The brace is a great product and look forward to getting a chance to start using it.
X Small - Mens 6-7 or Womens 7-8 Small - Mens 8-9 or Womens 9-10 Medium - Mens 9-11 or Womens 10-12 Large - Mens 11-13 or Womens 12-14 X Large Mens - 14+ or Womens 15+

much better than my old one,
This review is from: McDavid Lightweight Ankle Brace (Sports)
I sprained my ankle playing basketball about 8 months ago. It healed pretty quickly and I started using an old ankle brace that I have. Then I had a doozy of a sprain on the same ankle about a month ago... WITH THE OLD BRACE ON. I didn't think that could happen. Somehow I hurt ligaments and tendons on both sides of the ankle, high and low. X-rays showed no breaks though. I'm just now starting to play again. I bought this McDavid Lightweight model and have been very impressed with it. It's a sturdy material that gives a lot more support than my old brace. And it has the steel stays for even more support. It doesn't feel like it hurts my "quickness" any more than the old brace did. It pretty much keeps the ankle from turning but allows you to extend it without too much resistance. It's a quality brace.

From one who is 55. I have tried many elastic ankle supports, but this non-elastic laced support is the only one that does the job and does not cut off my circulation or make my skin sore rubbing. It does take more time to put it on and off, but it is well worth it. It fits well into an atheletic shoe. I have not tried it in a dress shoe, but think it would be a crowded fit. I typically wear custom orthodic arch supports, but I do not use them with the ankle support. The support tucks my arch up enough that my foot is fine without the arch support. It does not make my foot hot and the exterior does not soil easily and wipes clean. I liked it enough that I own both a white and black one. I have worn the ankle support doing ladder work for hours like cleaning the gutters and also while downing a large tree and hauling it off. It allows me to do things that would otherwise be painful or undoable.

Only 6 weeks after severely spraining my ankle and being told that I was out for the soccer season, I was on the field again. I have been able to cut, stop, and control the ball without pain. I strongly reccommend this item for anyone with a weak ankle after injury.

Best brace I could find,

I have been playing basketball all my life and have chronically bad ankles from various injuries I have suffered over the years. I have been through many kinds of ankle braces in an effort to ward off new injuries, but these ones seem to give the best support for me. I've bought at least half a dozen pairs of these over the last 2-3 years.
With ankles as damaged as mine, I'm bound to injure them even with braces on once in a while, and it has happened even while wearing these. However, I am sure they saved me from even worse injury. The price is much lower than some of the other brands like Aircast, etc. They do take some time to put on, but you get good at this quick. After playing in them 2-3 times a week for about 6 months, they get stretch and get 'soft' and are not as good a support as when they were new, so I buy several pairs a year. After a while the laces wear out from friction on the eyelets and may snap, but you can replace these fairly easily. All in all, a very good brace for the price, and I would recommend them.

Excellent and comfortable ankle protection,
By The second day running after I got off my crutches, I stepped wrong and I truly believe would have rolled my ankle again if the brace had not stopped it from happening. I have not stumbled again since then to test the brace, but I do believe it works. The instructions for the brace indicate that chaffing can be expected for the first few days of wearing the brace. I found the first day a little uncomfortable, but now I don't notice it at all. One trick that I learned is to lace up the brace while standing up. If you lace it up while sitting, the brace does tend to bind a bit under your foot. Overall, a good investment if you have weak ankles, not only to protect your ankles, but also to give you confidence to be active.

IMHO - Best all around ankle brace,
This review is from: McDavid Lightweight Ankle Brace (Sports)
I had ankle problems for most of my high school and college years from playing soccer, basketball, and football. I twisted and turned my ankle so many times and just wait for it to get better before playing again. Shortly after college, I was playing basketball and landed on someones foot and ended up tearing ligaments. I got these braces soon after healing up (4-5 months later) and have been using them with all my sports activities for the past 10 years. I can honestly say that I have never had another twisted or turned ankle and my ankles feels better than I can ever remember. I have one for each ankle and always use the right one on my right foot and left with left. They break in very well over time and last forever. I've tried the ones with straps and the others with the hard plastic under the heel, but those have been too restrictive while playing sports - for me. I'm just now looking to replace them after almost 10 years of using them (average twice a week). By the way, those who said their arches hurt after first using, they're correct. They just need to be "broken in" and the arch pains go away. Hope this helps.

After doing research I found the McDavid ankle brace was constructed similar to how a trainer would wrap
an ankle after a sports injury. They are right on with this. Doctor suggested using a lace up brace to recover from tendonitis. Although you should consult a physician I made the right choice with this brace. Thank you Amazon.com.

Broke my ankle and had to switch to swimming. Wore this brace in the pool during aqua jogging and swimming with a pool float, it keeps the ankle from flopping around. It got a little discolored from the chlorine in the pool, but who cares. It allows me to swim with a broken ankle! Better than other braces I've tried.

Gives A very good ankle support! I only wear one on my left ankle and notice I have much better lateral movement. Check the size chart and you might want to get shoes that are half size bigger then what you would normally wear. Worth the money, and I will be picking up another one soon. Don't buy the cheaper one from mueller, you get much more for ur buck with mcdavids
