It's pretty basic. It wraps around your knee and holds it in place. I'm 67 and walk 5 miles a day (ran for 35 years until my knees started hurting). I also work out in my gym and use this for my "leg days!" Old bones and cartilage tend to fall apart and wander around the knee. This holds it in place. Sort of like a girdle for the knee. It does what it's supposed to do!
