McDavid Ankle Support with Strap

I had a mild/moderate sprained ankle. I could walk but limped and had very little side to side movement. After a few days it got somewhat better but I needed something to support the ankle. I tried several similar supports from various vendors, but all of them either left part of the ankle exposed, or were too constricting. This brace was nice and easy to get on but pulled snug with the straps and stayed in place for hours.

I have since used this brace playing tennis/racquetball/running and in all of these applications it has provided a nice amount of support and really allowed me to get back into aggressive exercising without worrying about my ankle at all.

The only thing to make sure of is sizing. I have a wide foot, 11 4e. According to the size chart I should have a large. I ordered large and extra large, I couldn't even get the large over the first half of my foot. Anyone with wide feet, add a size so you have room to get this on correctly, it still fits fine.

I suffered a severe ankle sprain trail running, ( I was purple from my toes to my calf and had lots of swelling ) Ice , rest and using this ankle brace got me back up and running in a couple of months. I tried several and either they were made too small ( I have a 12 1/2 EE foot and could not get most pull on braces on especially with a little swelling ) I used a neoprene wrap type support until the swelling subsided enough to use this brace ( @ 2 weeks ). I found the Wrap type supports could not hold up to running and all of them would shift a lot or become totally loose after a couple of miles.
* This brace is pretty supportive so near the end of my rehab I actually cut off the bottom Velcro support strap . I then went to a light support sleeve and 5 months after the accident run without any extra support. I am happy to say no problems to date with my ankle. All the medical advice I received was to get back moving as soon as the pain was tolerable , this will actually aid in the healing process by keeping scar tissue broken up and in the long term be better off. I did not opt.for any formal therapy but that may not be the right route for you ( if my improvement was not steady I would have )

I sprained my ankle 5 weeks ago and since then I have tried several types of gaiters but they were not so helpful until I got McDavid. I wanna say WOW! I am absolutely surprised. Whatever I say about this great gaiter, it cannot explain my comfort and satisfaction that I got from it. The pain has almost disappeared since I start using it. I can now walk normally with little or no pain. I strongly recommend anyone who sprained his/her unkle to wear this amazing gaiter. Thank you McDavid.

I sprained my ankle at a yoga class. This simple support is easy to use and very comfortable. It is a lot easier than taping. My doctor even likes it. And the next time I go to a yoga class, I will be wearing this support

I usually wear shoes of size 8.5 or 9. According to the sizing information provided by McDavid, I can either choose size S or M.
I ordered size M, and it fits my ankle perfectly. Not sure if size S will do the same.
Overall it is a nice ankle brace, but remember, please choose the right size for yourself.

This is a really great ankle brace. I've been using it for two days and I
went from barely being able to walk to being able to do all my regular
activities. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Especially when you look at how cheap it is.

Received product quickly and found it supportive of my ankle. Somewhat bulky. However, still able to wear it with my regular shoes. I agree, the Large size was best for me.

This brace fits nicely and provides extra support. I sprained my ankle and used an air cast for the first 6 weeks and replaced the air cast with this brace. I would recommend this brace be used after the initial healing period for your injury as a support for when you return to your activity to help prevent reinjury.

I purchased this product in the size of Xlarge. When I attempted to try it on my size 11 foot it would not fit on my foot. I attempted to see what size foot it would fit. My son who is in his young teens has a size 9 and it still did not fit right.

I bought this item to have extra support after I sprained my ankle doing trail running.
Going straight to the point, I found that the neoprene sleeve with the straps did nothing for me.
Even worst, the straps put so much pressure on the arch that is painful to wear it even for a short time, and I have a very normal arch.
