These shorts performed exactly as advertised. I got the youth large and the overall fit is great, but I wish the pads were just a little larger. I have a pair of the adult mediums and the pads are easily .5x larger than on the youth large, which is offers better protection around the hip area. I use these for playing Ultimate and the extra padding would really help with avoiding abrasions when laying out.

Our little one plays soccer as the goalie. He frequently has to move quickly, stretch, fall, and leap in the way of a ball. We were looking for a way to both protect him and make him comfortable as we live in Florida where it is typically hot. This product does the trick. The padding has reduced brusing, it light enough to wear for the whole game without getting overheated and snaps back to shape time after time. He also seems less afraid of the ball knowing he padded and has become a better goalie for it. I highly recommend this product.
