Fun Addition To The McDuff Series,
By A Customer
This review is from: McDuff's New Friend (Hardcover)
As a Westie owner and lover of children's books, this title fits well with the others in the series. Sure to be a hit with the small children at Christmastime, McDuff helps Santa when he's in need. The illustrations are fantastic and capture the heart of this little breed.

Keeps them in suspense...,
This review is from: McDuff's New Friend (Hardcover)
My son, age 3, loves this book. The nighttime setting and wait for Santa gives it suspense, and McDuff's ventures out into the snow make for a very vivid read! It's his favorite McDuff story, along with McDuff Comes Home.

A new, cherished Christmas story!,
By A Customer
This review is from: McDuff's New Friends (Hardcover)
Westie owners and westie lovers unite! McDuff has starred in another wonderful story! My children and I love the new book in the McDuff series. It is apparent that the author and illustrator have these wonderful little dogs in their midst for inspiration. We often see our Linus lying in the same way McDuff lies, giving us the same expression McDuff gives Fred and Lucy, and giving our children the "awful squinting looks" McDuff gives the baby. My personal favorite line from the new book: "McDuff is empty!"

Kindergarteners chose McDuff over four other books.,
By A Customer
This review is from: McDuff's New Friend (Hardcover)
Four classes of Kindergartners voted to read McDuff's New Friend over three other books (about monsters, magic, and big bad wolves...) Their only question about the text was "What are galoshes?" The children here enjoy McDuff's adventures!

This was a huge disappointment as we already had this exact book under the title, McDuff's Christmas. Please come up with original titles!

The McDuff books are the most wonderful books for children. They tell a very sweet story and are durable. We find them particularly special since we have a Westie and the personality is captured in these books. They are now favorites of my children as they were favorites of my own children.

Holy Toledo!,

This review is from: McDuff's New Friend (Board book)
Of course there are always giggles when we get to the line, "Holy Toledo!" but my daughter also always laughs when Fred has to dig dog tunnels for McDuff to go out into the snow. This book includes pleasant illustrations and a fun little story. I think I've read it about 5 times today to my 3 year old! We're both enjoying it. I must say, the McDuff books are much better than Clifford the Big Red Dog. We're converted!

Adorable dog saves Christmas,
By Picatso "Picatso" (VAN WERT, OHIO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: McDuff's New Friend (Hardcover)
I love the McDuff books for their artwork, and the 1950s setting. This charming story has Lucy and Fred slightly exasperated with McDuff's constant woofs to go outside during the night on Christmas Eve; however, they patiently let him out each time and he finally discovers Santa in the garage looking for the snowshovel -- which Fred has been using to dig "dog tunnels." My favorite picture is that of McDuff looking into his Christmas package to discover a little black kitten -- his new friend. You can only see part of the kitten, but the expression and attitude are true to those of an apprehensive little cat hoping she will be welcomed. If you like McDuff, I think you'll love this book.

Kaitlynd, Roger, and Lindsay LOVED this book!,
This review is from: McDuff's New Friend (Hardcover)
We are 2nd graders. Our names are Kaitlynd, Roger, and Lindsay. We have been reading books by Rosemary Wells. Our favorite book is McDUFF's NEW FRIEND. Kaitlynd liked the part when it was snowing. It makes her happy when it snows. Roger liked this book because the dog gets a kitten for a Christmas present. Lindsay liked the part at the end of the story when McDuff got the kitten. It made her happy when McDuff got a friend.
