McFarlane has delivered to us some quality Alien and Predator figures lately. The Grid Alien is no exception, though in the long run it is a somewhat disappointing toy.Virtually identical in every way to the Alien: Resurrection Warrior alien released in 2003, the only differences in this toy are the different forearm and hand design, head design and color. The legs are also straight, as opposed to being bent at the lower leg like the Resurrection alien. The tail is also more reminiscent of the 'Aliens' style Alien that was released this year. This toy is also identical to the 'Battle Alien' from this same series, save the fact that the Battle Alien has a slightly different head...it has no Grid scar and has an open mouth, rather than a closed mouth. It is definitely a nice looking figure, but I was somewhat disappointed by its blatant similarity to the Resurrection Alien. Of the two Aliens in this series I prefer this one, only because it has a more distinctive look with the Grid scar on its head. Both figures pose exactly the same, and as someone else had pointed out in another review, the joints at the legs are rather blatantly unrealistic (this is also quite evident on the Predators in this series). The figure comes with a nice-looking base and it can be posed in several different ways, looking exceptionally good when you pose it opposite one of the Predator figures. This figure is also more durable than most McFarlane figures, but its limited articulation is still delicate. This is a piece for collectors only.

This toy is ok, but ther's not much articulation.I tried to poseits leg, but it broke off. I very dissapointed. It just needs more articulation.

Ok, so I got the figure. I opened it up, thought everything was fine and dandy, and when I tried to bend it's abdomen joint, SNAP!!! It was finished in the blink of an eye. Kinda like the movie...Anyway, it is over all an OKAY figure, I wouldn't highly recomend it for just any one. It's more for display than actually play.

This will be a review for both the Grid Alien and the Battle Alien. For starters, let me say that I like any and all Alien figures, simply because they're based on my favorite sci-fi monster. I am also a fan of McFarlane Toys for their incredible detail. That being said, I'm a bit disappointed in the two Alien figures in this series. First off, my Grid Alien's head fell off as soon as I got it out of the clamshell package, and it appeared that someone had already tried gluing it back on. I've heard of other people having similar problems with their McFarlane figures in the past. Secondly, the Grid and Battle Aliens have identical bodies and limbs; only the heads are different. Thirdly, the ball joints that connect the legs to the torso look silly. They make the figures look less realistic. Overall, it seems like the people at McFarlane didn't put much effort in their AVP Alien figures. If you're not a collector but want a couple good figures, I would suggest the figure based on "Alien" and the figure based on "Alien3."

It is cool but it could have had it`s mouth open. It comes with a stand and a human thing. I think it`s pretty cool.
