5.0 out of 5 stars Another great series, December 14, 2005

This review is from: McFarlane Dragons Series 2: Fire Dragon Clan (Toy)
New series of Dragons from McFarlane, and I'm still impressed. Very happy I bought the series. The dragons are a little smaller this time, with no clear pieces or wings like last time, but seem to have larger wing spans. Nice themed pieces like this awesome Chinese Dragon (my favorite) and the lantern fish-esqe Water Dragon.

Attachement to the bases has been greatly improved from the first series, with a totally different sort of peg used, so none of my dragon/base attachments looked ugly this time!

Still, not for children as they are not posable really at all, and the paint does chip sort of easily; meant to be displayed, not played with! Also, very SHARP.

Disappointed that the story only comes in the box set this time, instead of with each dragon, and I wish that didn't come out so much later.

All in all, glad I picked the series up. Great dragon figures, very worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars easter ala macfaralne, June 8, 2007

This dragon looks like eastern dragons, with its face, whiskers and long body. It's wings were surprisingly easy to attach (considering past experience with other macfarlane's dragons). I thought it would be difficult to make it stand because it has only one leg on the ground, but surprisingly, there was no problem to it. Colors are beautiful.. this is my one of my favourite macfarlane.

This is my first McFarlane dragon, although not my first Spawn.com toy as I have an Angela as well. The detailing of these sculpts is really phenomenal, well thought out musculature and ornamentation. I got this dragon actually because I was looking for a new model dinosaur that reflected the recent finds of fossils with feathers in China, and there were no good dino models but this dragon's combination of features was too good to pass up. Funny how we fantasy folks have had the right idea all along...

I did find that the wings were difficult to get to snap in and stay on, and I am hoping that we will get them to snug in tightly for the long haul.
