McFarlane Halo 3 HMaster Chief Figure, 12"

Now to be fair this is a mass produces 1/6 scale version of the Master Chief character from the Halo franchise. Being a mass produced toy in this price bracket it will not compare to offering from companies like Hot Toys or Soldier Story. But its not supposed to, and in its context is a great figure. The detail is nice and articulation is pretty good leading to the ability to pose the figure in a variety of positions.

The paint is fair, but pretty good considering the price of this figure. I was slightly unhappy with the helmet visor paint, but the rest of the figure was pretty good. Its worth mentioning that there are two more versions of this figure. There is a blue Spartan and a brown one. The blue figure is exclusive to Walmart and the brown to Toys R Us.

My only gripe with this figure are some flaws in the design. The ankles weaken and the figure falls over if not properly balanced. They used a click-lock version of the ankle joint on the 5" figure. I believe they should have used an ankle similar to the 7" figure joyride studios produced for the Halo 2 figures. My other complaint is the right hand. The left hand is a sculpted hand with great detail, but the right hand is multiple joint hand that looks awkward. Its supposed to allow you to get a more realistic grip for the AR, but the fingers are weak and the rifle fits loosely. I believe they also should have used a sculpted right hand as well.

Those being my only complaints, Im still satisfied with the figure. Its a good price and very durable figure with a lot of detail. It compliments any room (if you're a Halo fan). However if you're skiddish about having things like this out in the open, this MC doesn't easily blend in to any shelf environment.

Finally a 12inch master Chief at a really good price, this is a great figure, the paint job is pretty good, although I may add a few details of my own to it's over all paint, the helmet particularly. You can actually pose this figure the way you want, which is a great step for McFarlane Toys, so you're not stuck with a statue all ways looking in the wrong direction.

I would really give it 4.5 stars for the lack of detail in the paint, the small ones McFarlane made have just a bit better paint job......

This figure is awesome. Its very poseable and looks great. I have it on my game shelf near my 360 collection. I can have it standing up on it's own no problem. Gun fits well in Master Chief's hands. All around I would recommend this to anyone interested.

As a HALO fan, this sits on my bookshelf next to my games. It looks great, is fully articulated and is very accurate in its detailing. A good buy. I dont know if it would be any good for kids as I dont have any ! However the grenade can be glued into its slot on the Chiefs leg and the assault rifle is well placed in its hands. I think that he looks great !

My son and I cannot get enough of Halo on our XBox 360. He's determined to collect the entire Spartan Team.

I have this one in a cabinet with other Halo items. Full articulation for any pose, realisitic looks, awsome for display. If I were younger, I'd play with it, and it feels like it would hold up. Cool weapons too!! IT'S BIG TOO!!

So I get it out of the box and the pins in the fingers are all falling out, which means the fingers are all in pieces, and it refuses to hold the gun properly, and the legs are so loose that it's hard to get him to stand and the slightest breeze knocks him over. I'm much more impressed with NECA's 12" Marcus Fenix than this Master Chief.

I don't care that it's 1/7th scale, or that the details are great; why does this thing cost $30-40 when the quality assurance seems so low? This is the last thing I'll be ordering from McFarlane.

Bought this action figure for my older son for his birthday. More a decorative piece than a playtoy. He enjoyed it very much as an adult "toy". A perfect gift for a Halo fan. Very well made, with a quality look to it. Will recommend this figure and the toymaker to others.

the halo figure is big and detailed it has a bunch of moving parts so you can pose him however you like i would recommend this product to any halo fan
