Disclaimer: My review for this toy is based on a retail purchase. Amazon's pre-order was delayed so I cancelled and bought a second one at retail, both were identical in Pros and Cons.

Pros: It's a 15" long, 8" tall Warthog IFV, straight from the game, and it will fit most TMP Halo figures (although the earlier Halo3 figures may look a little small in this beast). The figures fit in the seats just fine and can easily hold the steering wheel and shifter. The rear machinegun has nothing to brace the gunner's feet, only the gun handles to hold him/her in place.
Unlike the more 'fragile' ATV Mongoose by TMP, this Warthog is built of sturdier plastics and made to last. Definitely more a toy than a model. Have fun beating this up indoors or outdoors. Clear windshield, rubber tires, and lots of accurately sculpted details. A very clean paint job with no bleeding or smudging of paint, in solid greens and greys (UNSC symbols on the driver's side) and some "worn" texture for metal areas and the tires.

Cons: For the price the only features are: spinning wheels, turning steering wheel, and a rear machinegun that raises and rotates 360 degrees. For what it is, the toy is fine, but some extra "play features" might have knocked this out of the park. A working winch would have been really nice.
Also, the "suspension" is accurate to the game with 4 separate struts (1 per wheel) and has a little flexible give so this is great for a little "bounce" while rolling along. However, the rear tires are a little too close to the chassis, so if you push from the back of the vehicle there's so little clearance that the rear tires tend to rub up against the fenders and if the treads catch they stop forward motion altogether.

Hello,

I purchased this item for my son, who is fascinated with everything like this. He has since had one major battle with the enemy after the other. He really enjoys it and it shows no signs of tearing up. If you purchase this, your child will like it.

Thanks

My son loves Halo, and so he HAD to have these toys. There really isn't any other option. Unfortunately, the quality is poor in relation to the price. It breaks easily and doesn't "do" much. If you are buying these toys for a die hard Halo fan, then it is worth it. If not, then pass. You can get better quality toys for much less money elsewhere.

This toy is awesome! Very tough plastic! Very realistic details! The steering wheel spins 360, the turret spins 360 to! rubber wheels! And the if you get action figures for this product they are a little hard to put in, but once you get them in, they will not get out that easily. Since it's 60% more collectors item than 40% more play toy it will make a nice looking thing in your office! I had the same problem that the other reviewer had (the back wheels are a little to close to the chassis) so if you do play with it, then do not push it from the back, instead push it from the front, yes I forgot to tell you that the wheels roll. overall GREAT TOY!

This is a very durable, well made toy. This thing is BEEFY. I'm sure a child could definatly put this thing through the ringer and it would come out fine. The only problem I had was that the turret on the back is a bit loose after installation, but could probably help it survive a bit longer since it will fall out before taking alot of pressure that would normally break it.

This year Santa brought my 6-year-old, who loves Halo, a boxed Warthog for me to assemble.

PRO:
1. Faithful replica of the beloved Warthog.
2. Action figures go into the seats and machinegun. My version of the toy must be different from what one of the previous reviewers has, because the turret has little clips that hold an action figure's toes relatively well. The two Spartans I've inserted fit fine in any of the three places.
3. easy to assemble. The only thing that needed assembly was the turret, which just goes into the back of the hog.
4. nifty keen suspension suggesting the bouncy off-road feel emblematic of the vehicle from the game.

This toy seems like a slam dunk, right?

No. It has some serious problems.

CON:
1. The suspension holds the rear wheels WAY TOO CLOSE to the chassis. The weight of the hog makes them sometimes bump together, which is like hitting the brakes really hard for the jeep. One of the reviewers mentioned this too so I think this is a design flaw rather than a manufacturing goof. Worse, the plastic struts will likely wear with time, meaning this problem is inevitable even if your struts are initially strong.

This by itself is really inexcusable. The toy doesn't do very much-- it's a car with a toy gun on top. Children who play with toy cars expect the wheels to turn and the car to roll well. This car does not roll well. You can't play with it as a car. How did playtesting not catch this? FAIL.

2. As if this weren't enough, the turret doesn't snap into place. It fits (perfectly) into a circular hole in the back of the 'hog. That means the turret spins like a dream, but if subjected to lateral force of any kind (bumps, gravity...), it will just fall out.
