Finally, a Daryl Dixon figure that looks more along the lines of how Daryl has looked in the show for the last 2 seasons. McFarlane has also captured a better likeness of Norman Reedus this go around, compared to the series 1 Daryl Dixon which was then reissued in the Dixon Brothers 2 pack from series 4. This is the Daryl figure I've been waiting for, and it was worth the wait. The figure itself is very similar to the last few series McFarlane Toys has released, with the exception of the new articulation in the legs at the hip that allow Daryl to sit on his chopper. We get a whole new body and head sculpt for Daryl, and we also get some new accessories.

The head sculpt can be pretty spot on if the paint is applied well, but I've seen some with sloppy paint apps that make Daryl look like he has bitter beer face, or is half Asian. Other than that, this figure looks good. The rest of the paint apps for his hair and clothes look good, especially the angel wings on the back of Daryl's vest (which are also sculpted into the vest and not just painted on) and the buttons on the front are even painted. They even included a rag sticking out of the back of his pants like he usually has in the show, which I think is a great added detail. The vest and his shirt are a softer plastic so his range of motion isn't hindered much when sitting him on the chopper.

The accessories look great. The crossbow is Daryl's newer cross bow with the green bolts and the camo stalk. It has a strap so you can sling it over his shoulder but the strap isn't big enough to go over his head and chest. So he can't wear it like he usually does in the show. While that is a bummer, they've included a spot on the chopper that you can attach the crossbow to right on the forks of the front wheel.

The Deluxe Box Set Daryl Dixon is everything I've been waiting for! The sculpt is awesome, as has been the running theme with these figures since series 3, when they began taking scans of the actors rather than going the traditional sculpting by hand.
For those not familiar with the size of these figures, they're all at, or around, 5" tall. This figure stands a little more than 5" from head to toe.

The paint and weathering techniques they've been using on these figures has been top notch! Each figure from this line looks filthy; if you're familiar with the show (which you probably are since you're spending so much money on these) you'll know that the characters hardly change clothes, often wearing the same sweat, dirt and blood soaked clothing for long lengths of time.

The bike is AMAZING! its done so well and realistic, I'm surprised it doesn't actually turn on! Theres so many pieces and small details put on it, that it'd be worth buying it alone! I can't think of anything I'd want different on it- it's perfect.

I've read a few reviews from people disappointed that there is no poncho- THIS IS NOT THE PONCHO VERSION.
That is the 10" deluxe version, which is pictured on the box that this figure comes in.
I have that figure as well, and would recommend buying both!

Also, this does not have the "SS" logo on the tank , as was originally shown on the prototype. Which is understandable, though still a little disappointing, but not a big deal. I can see McFarlane toys wanting to avoid any sort of controversy, just as they put Carl's baseball bat silencer gun with the Tyreese figure, rather than including it with the Carl figure.

Overall, its a great figure and an awesome purchase for any fan of the show.

I'm a huge TWD fanatic, I'm very big into the show, and an avid fan of the McFarlane figures. Now to the review. Being a collector, I don't typically take figures out of the box. The artwork on the blister packaging in itself is amazing for the walking dead figure series (1-5 so far including the 10" daryl dixon). However, as great as it may be-I like to do my research on figures, whether by watching other review videos or buying 2 of a product and keeping 1 displayed in the box. My pros on this specific daryl and chopper- McFarlane is known for detail, and that's what they're going for I think now days with twd figure series, unlike series 1-2. Naturally being a daryl fan I had to pick this bad boy up. The detail on the bike is absolutely amazing, the paint apps are very unique, and very realistic. I can't put into words how much this motorcycle looks like the REAL bike. It's got dusty, dirty, worn out looks that just have to be rated an A+. The wheels, the kickstand, the engine, headlight, saddlebags and overall body are fantastic. Now to the figure- he features 20 points of articulation(seems like more) and has an amazing paint application that resembles norman reedus almost perfectly. From head to toe he's sculpted and painted very well, close to as well as the 10" daryl. Now that that's over with ill get to my cons, the figure doesn't have sculpted hair, instead we get a hairpiece glued on, so if you're rough with him, you could make him a baldy. The motorcycle doesn't have attachable saddlebags, instead we get saddlebags that just literally lay on the bike, that's fine for display but not for someone that buys for play purpose.Read more ›
