5.0 out of 5 stars Now that's a hole punch
I do a lot of punching in my job and this product is a lifesaver. Punches 10 sheets with ease, 20 sheets with a real good squeeze. It holds a ton of dots securely until you want them dumped.

2.0 out of 5 stars MaGill Punch
This punch was not of the quality of the one I use at work. It does not do through the things I need to punch like the other one I use. It works great for paper but not the tyvek paper I need to punch.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work well on flexible plastic nor tarps, May 28, 2011

To be fair it does work very well on paper and cardboard, which might be its primary goal.

But it doesn't work any type of flexible plastic such as tarps or thick garbage bags. You can see the impression of the hole punch, stretched into the surface of the plastic. And sometimes on an outdoor tarp it might cut a little bit of the circle out, but never a nice punched hole.

I don't think it's a problem with the strength of the tool, I think there's enough leverage. But I suspect the edges of the punch and socket don't line up close enough to cut. Just a guess.

I did work OK on rigid clear plastic.

And of course Amazon's no hassle return policy is an easy fix.

4.0 out of 5 stars It Does the Job, August 30, 2010

I work at a fitness facility, and we use this punch to put holes in membership cards. These cards are made of hard plastic, and this hole punch puts holes in them very easily. It even has a hole on the handle so that you can attach it to a chain in order to prevent it from walking off. Overrall a very good product and I am very satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent little product that does the job!, December 21, 2011

This hand punch fills the bill when it comes to making a nice clean 1/4" holes in paper thicknesses up to 15 sheets of 20# stock. I got it to punch a hole in the top center of Calendars I buy each year. That's 12 sheets of glossy stock plus two thick covers and it works great. Beats the tar out of the weak little models you buy at the office supply stores that crumple when you grip 'em too tight. Th McGill 303 is strong and built to take a good strong grip and hold up without the grips buckling. I'm very very happy with this item 'cause I'm sure I won't be needing to buy another one ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my needs, January 19, 2012

This McGill #303 punch is perfect for my needs. I use it to punch 1/4" holes in grey, brown or white 100% wool felt from Magic Cabin. I then use the little punched shapes as ears that I adhere to the tiny Santa mice that I make and which I then place in my handmade, little felted baskets and sell, donate to helping organizations or "gift" to friends and relatives as Christmas tree ornaments. I think one has to have strong hands to use a punch of this capacity, and it's good exercise for the hand, as well.
