5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book to Use
This book is really really good. It goes through all game types. It starts out every section with the game type and goes through IN DEPTH diagrams and psychology of each in 3 or 4 games with 8 typical LSAT questions following each. Then after the explained 3 or 4 LSAT games, it gives you 4 more that you do on your own and they provide semi-lengthy explanations of. At the...

3.0 out of 5 stars not great, but not too bad

3.0 out of 5 stars not great, but not too bad, September 30, 2010
This review is from: McGraw-Hill's Conquering LSAT Logic Games, Third Edition (Paperback)
The strategies and techniques taught in this book were very useful. However, this book is filled with errors. After working through the first section of the book I thought I was losing my mind because the principles that they had taught me, and I had applied, were generating (according to the book) the wrong answers. But the answers that the book said were correct were blatantly contradictory to the constraints of the questions. I cannot in good faith recommend this book, especially if you are using it as a sole resource, however the logic techniques and principles were somewhat useful. Just watch for the errors.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not to be taken too seriously, February 26, 2011
This review is from: McGraw-Hill's Conquering LSAT Logic Games, Third Edition (Paperback)
If you're just looking to practice logic games, it's not so bad, this book is full of them. However, some questions were worded ambiguously and some answers were contradicting. If you run into some issues with the given answers and cannot figure out what you did wrong, don't worry about it, just move on. It seems the authors and editors with this practice guide were more concerned about quantity rather than quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars Soooooo many typos you will think your doing problems wrong, April 28, 2011
This review is from: McGraw-Hill's Conquering LSAT Logic Games, Third Edition (Paperback)
This book has at least 11 typos by page 33. These are serious mistakes because most of them deal with the answers or key elements of the lesson. Don't buy this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book to Use, August 2, 2010
This book is really really good. It goes through all game types. It starts out every section with the game type and goes through IN DEPTH diagrams and psychology of each in 3 or 4 games with 8 typical LSAT questions following each. Then after the explained 3 or 4 LSAT games, it gives you 4 more that you do on your own and they provide semi-lengthy explanations of. At the end you have two practice tests. One that you do before using the book and one that you do after reading the book so that you can see how much you improved by. Very good book. This book was created by a group of Harvard law school graduates. They did an excellent job.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy Official LSAT Prep or PowerScore LSAT Logic Games Bible, September 26, 2011
By
This review is from: McGraw-Hill's Conquering LSAT Logic Games, Third Edition (Paperback)
McGraw Hill's Conquering LSAT Logic Games, Third Edition is the worst such book I have yet to purchase and try. The back cover states it was developed and refined by law school students who aced the LSAT. I'm sure that's true, but apparently they did not ace test design. Of the questions I attempted, too many listed a "correct" answer that was a direct violation of a given rule. Typically, the given explanation ignores the rule that the "correct" answer violated. A user might be led to believe he was inordinately bad at Logic Games, except for exposure to other tutoring publications. When a given answer is correct in The Official LSAT SuperPrep or The PowerScore LSAT Logic Games Bible , that answer does not violate any of the rules. The explanations are clear and thorough. Especially, if you are on a tight time schedule, I think, working your way through all of M.H.s' Conquering LSAT Logic Games, could actually diminish your performance. I have to give a Do Not Buy recommendation.

1.0 out of 5 stars Major Errors, April 22, 2012
This review is from: McGraw-Hill's Conquering LSAT Logic Games, Third Edition (Paperback)
Within the first few pages, and on the first practice test, there are errors concerning the logical formulations. For instance on page 5 there is aformulation describing If an act A does not occur then act B occurs. This should read in logic as ~A->B but in the book it reads ~A->~B. This is one among many major errors. I found this a very dissapointing purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete and total scam, November 4, 2011
This review is from: McGraw-Hill's Conquering LSAT Logic Games, Third Edition (Paperback)
This book is a complete and total scam, don't buy it. It's filled with errors. I wasted two hours of my life feeling stupid and trying to figure what I was doing wrong when it turned out the book was just sloppily edited.
