5.0 out of 5 stars :::YOU WILL PASS STUDYING WITH THIS BOOK!!!:::
This amazing GED study book gets 5 stars, if I could 20 stars because not only does it reprogram the basics that you might have forgotten from school years ago, it keeps you motivated and excited about learning new things as well!
Let me give you a lil background. I'm 21 and was always the student who knew I was smart but somehow failed at tests/lacked self...

1.0 out of 5 stars Stupid Mistakes
Although I admit that the book is good book, it's easy to understand and follow, there are many stupid mistakes in it and it could be really confusing. It looks like the book wasn't proofread, some mistakes are so obvious I don't understand how they didn't fix it. I'd say look for something else and don't waste your time with this book.

This amazing GED study book gets 5 stars, if I could 20 stars because not only does it reprogram the basics that you might have forgotten from school years ago, it keeps you motivated and excited about learning new things as well!

Let me give you a lil background. I'm 21 and was always the student who knew I was smart but somehow failed at tests/lacked self confidence and honestly, wasn't ever taught HOW to study correctly.

And I know I'm not the only one!

So years passed and I searched on Amazon for a GED book because I finally felt ready and comfortable to do this on my own. I had many chances to go take classes for my GED but I felt that I would benefit much more doing this on my own and pushing myself to do so (extremely happy I did that)

I got this book, along with 4 folders and quite a few highlighters.

(I love to personalize things and make them feel like my own so

being able to highlight areas in the book etc made it fun and personal, I recommend it!)

To make this short..

I want you to know that this book, if you put your heart&soul into it, will change your life for the better.

You're only moving up and forward from here!

Everything is easy to follow, nothing overwhelming and you will be amazed at how much this book teaches you verses any teacher you ever had!

Before I read any of the chapters I took the pre-tests.

I scored in the 40% range.

After I had studied and completed the book I took the post-tests.

My 40% scores sky rocketed to 98-100%!

This book is no joke and I promise you, this is the ONLY GED out there to really hits every possible angle you need to pass the GED tests.

I received my GED certificate

(which is NO different then a High school diploma)

in August this year.

I surprised my entire family with it (I kept it all a secret to surprise them)

and I owe it all to this book.

I certainly hope that if you're the one who lacked self confidence/froze during tests/don't know how to get started/overwhelmed to take classes, that you pick up McGraw-Hill's Pre-GED book now.

You have nothing to lose and if I could do this, YOU CAN!!

It will be so much weight off your shoulders, I promise you.

Take care & Good luck!!!

xo

5.0 out of 5 stars Great resource, January 9, 2007

I purchased this book for my friend recently. He has been out of school for nearly 10 years now but has found this book extremely easy to use and understand. Even with his very short attention span, he manages to spend an hour or more a session going through this book multiple times a week. Based on the progress I've seen him make, I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to anyone looking to brush up or even teach themself the skills necessary to pass the GED. This is an excellent resource.

5.0 out of 5 stars McGraw-Hill's Pre-Ged, June 9, 2008

This book is truly the most complete GED walk through and learn type book i have found.

It begins with pre-tests on every subject and after marking your test scores you will then see that "glosery" type set up, which tells you what chapters you need to study. Once you have the basic idea of what you need to study, the book goes into the chapters of study material. It was nice because i did the pre-tests and then i started the entire book rather than just going over what i needed to, I actually learned a lot that i had not known or well probably forgotten. It is nice to have no knowledge in something and read this book and it it easy to follow keeps me going, unlike the previous GED books i tried to study from, they were slow and i would get frustrated on how slow things all went and stop studying.

Once you are finished the study parts of the book, even if you went and did the entire book like i did or just the study guide there are post tests you take. These post tests are nice because it allows you to see what aspects you still need some help with and if no more help is needed you will then be ready for the GED exam.

This book is the most up-to-date GED book around it is very in-depth and easy to read and learn. I would absolutely tell everyone about this book. I give it an A++

I bought this book for a student of mine that was planning to drop out of school. I told him that he could take the GED test and get a GED diploma. He has been using the book and says it is easy to follow and not difficult to understand the information; plus he is staying ion school untill he takes the GED test.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Book out there to Prepare for the GED!, March 3, 2009
This review is from: McGraw-Hill's Pre-GED : The Most Comprehensive Review of the Skills Necessary for GED Study (Paperback)
I bought this book for my son as a pre-test and pre-study guide for the GED. I spent hours in the store looking over different books before picking this one. This is the best organized book for GED prep that I have seen. It is well broken down. The pre-test was easy for my son to do. We identified only one weak area, math. However; my son is currently going through the whole manual and brushing up on every subject.

Previously he had just frozen up when he didn't immediately have a good grasp of the subject. But this book has broken down each subject so well, in small, palatable bites (so to speak) that he actually looks forward to finishing and taking the post tests to see how well he is doing (wow, who are you and what have you done with my son?)

I highly recommend this book to anyone preparing for the GED.

I am mentoring a 23 year old woman. She has been educated through the 8TH Grade. This book has been invaluable to us. It is hard to stuff four years of high school in a mind that is no longer a teenager. The teaching in this book are very clear and precise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done!, January 19, 2009
This review is from: McGraw-Hill's Pre-GED : The Most Comprehensive Review of the Skills Necessary for GED Study (Paperback)
I purchased this book to help tutor a student. I was unsure of his academic level and this book was very helpful to identify his strengths and weaknesses. It is written in an easy to use manner. My favorite part was the pre-tests and post-tests. The tests are key to success for the teacher/student knowing what the student needs to learn and or study.
