I've been using both Protec and Fountec for the past two years in my solar-powered bird bath/fountain. I believe this product has extended the life of my fountain's pump, especially considering I live in a city notorious for its hard water. Protec has also proven quite safe for the birds that visit to drink and bath in the fountain every day. This is a safe and effective product I trust and can recommend to others.

i bought this with high hopes. i mean, over thirty dollars for a gallon, i was expecting more. i have well water, and our indoor fountains build up a sludge that i thought this would take care of. i was wrong. it seemed to work for the first day or so. they say to add one tablespoon about every month. within two weeks, i had used almost half the bottle, and still no change.
